Default Best street strip turbo

hi guys, ive searched the forum high ands low, im new to the turbo honda game and ive got a rough gestimate of what turbo will fit the bill, im running a b18c4 2l benson sleeved block, type r head with mild port work, victor x, 70mm tb, 780c injectors, aem fpr and rail, walbro pump, msd coil, 3 bar map and s300 etc!! pretty sure it will be a peakboost top mount kit but just need that final bit of advice from you guys???
im looking for a turbo that will be on full chat around 1.5bar at around 4.5k, and that will give me around 500+ fly hp. its honestly a minefield, ive been looking at gt30r,gt35r,gt37r,sc61,pt6776,bw s362, but im now at the point i have to make a choice, any comments would help, or any other recommendations, HELP

Go with a gt3076 for quick spool and a bit over 500hp depending on your cams. The 35r will give you more power but is not near as fun on the street

running type r cams, only trouble is im in the uk, our tuners are not as hooked up as yours, i.e wont get the same numbers from identical setups, quite a bit less!! thats whats pushing me towards the bigger turbo's!!!! i love the idea of spool by 4k, but i dont think it will reach my hp goals!!!
keep um comin

How much power are you trying to get on pump gas? 93 octane? Do you have access to E85? You will get limited with 780cc injectors...

i can change the injectors if needed!! it will be on 97 octane buddy, realistically looking 4 460-500 fly whp,,,,,,,,,,,i seriously worry that with a 3076r i will only make 380-400 at 21-24psi, as i say 500hp is my goal, along with high 11's????

97 sounds good I make 430whp at 19psi on 91 octane with stock GSR cams and a 3076r. 380 is really light for a 2.0l at 21psi. With your cams and 97 octane Im sure Id be at or above 500whp

If your tune will be soooo conservative that you will only make 380fwhp at 21psi you will not hit 500 on a 35r with a similar tune

3076r with a .63 a/r. Spools real fast and makes good power.

Check out Danny50's build on Team-integra.

True that! He put down over 500whp on a conservative tune. I'll be making the same numbers next week

I'm not too familiar with this stuff, so take my advice with a grain of salt.

I've been researching the Go-Autoworks Spec turbo by Bullseye. If I'm reading the graph right, they were getting boost by 4-4.5k on a stock d15b on a .55 a/r turbine.

This may be the turbo I go with on my z6 build for a nice streetable powerband. The price is also a plus.

gt30r with a 63 hotside. Spool is very quick, and all around the best street turbo. 30r's can make up to 550 with the right tuning. Someone local made 574 on race gas and 535whp on 112 octane.

wow, gud response, i may be a little harsh by the 400hp at 24psi but but not far off!!ideally guys i want a turbo that spools 21 odd psi by 4500 and that is rated to around 650hp, in my heart of hearts its a bb 35r but will it spool anywhere near 4500rpm??? also looking at other turbo's that will do the same job!!! i cant see the 30r meeting my goals, but it would be nice!!!
keep um kumin!!!

I'm making a tad under 400 (UK fly HP) at 1 bar, full boost by 3700
Fuel is shell Optimax/BP Super, my turbo is hybrid GT28/30.
I run a full road spec UK CRX VT (1080kg) forged B18 (GSR) ITR top end.
On road tyres 12.3 @119mph off the back of an 2.2 60ft (0.9 bar)

So, it's possible to run high 11's with a lower spec, not sure how much is left in the turbo but I plan to run 19psi (max).

Also research the US dyno numbers compared to UK along with their fuel RON rating, it differs.

Sorry to say but this comment is not true

"running type r cams, only trouble is im in the uk, our tuners are not as hooked up as yours, i.e wont get the same numbers from identical setups, quite a bit less!!"

Like people have said, a 30r will for sure get you 500whp with a proper tune. Talk to eddiecrx and ask where in Europe/UK you can get a tune. A 35r will not spool as fast as you want it to.

P.S. Eddie, hows Paris? I just lived there for a year and loved it. Now back in Colorado

35R spooling at 4500rpm on a b series will be hard... maybe a twin scroll setup with some nice cams youll get closer but probably not until around 5k RPM my H22a made full boost (28psi) at 4700rpm with a .82 35R

Well the Bullseye S366 ETT has very similar spool to a GT35R and will make more power so I think the S362 should be well suited for you if you are looking for ultimate spool. Search for S362 vs GT35R or S366 vs GT35R. I started one of these when I was looking for a turbo. I went with the S366 ETT.

Precision SC-61. It will be nice on the street and will reach and surpass the goals your looking for. Im running one and love it.

hey! nice to see someone from the u.k building a high spec turbo b18 aswel, i wanted ultimate power, wasnt bothered about lag so i brought a GT35r 1.06 hot side the car isnt actualy running at this point in time as im waiting for the engine to come back (darton sleeves) i was wondering at what rpm im likely to hit peak boost as i had a cheap and nasty t3/t4 turbo from ebay on before and that was hitting boost at 6k with a hot side off 63! wasnt the worlds best tune though, as long as it comes in at 6k or near then i wont mind.

bugger it, sacrificing rpm for power, ive spent all night comparing t3 35r's and s366's, the basic's im getting is they spool the same around 5300-5600 but the bw will make more power?correct?
