Hey whats up everyone. I have a 2000 civic ex but i want this K&N air intake system built only for the '99-'00 Si. I'm pretty sure the si has a bigger throttle body from my ex, but i was wondering if it would be a pain to make it work on my ex. i was thinking that it would be similar to the aem kit, where you just connect the thick rubber piece from the intake pipe to the throttle body and tighten it, right? also, would it send a check engine warning? i think the Si and the ex have the same oxygen sensor and other adaptor, maybe? Anyway, i just like this K&N system, but if it's gonna be too much hassle i'll stick with the aem or something. Please let me know your advise, thanks a lot!

 

it will fit, but i can't see any more benefit from it than if you used one made for the Ex. the piping diameter is too big on the Si intake for your Ex. its just going to bottleneck at the throttle body. but it will fit just fine. a friend of mine had an Si CAI on his 96 EX at one time but it was an AEM.

Yes, it will work perfectly. I am also selling a AEM Cold Air Intake off of a 2000 Civic SI for $85 Shipped. Let me know if you are intersted, I have pic.

 

what color is your aem cai?

yes it will work fine. i ran a cai on my 97 ex, but switched to the ex one cause i figured it was made for the specific car and would be better. but the si one will work fine just is alot bigger than the ex.
