1965 Honda S600 Coupe owner
Hi everyone, I was introduced to this forum but ztlohmak (which also owned a coupe last year). I bought the weatherstrips from him on ebay and communicated a little bit about my car.
Seems like I have bought a yellow coupe. I think red and white is more common, but yellow is definitely uncommon and definitely not on a coupe. The original car registration card had yellow on the details list.
But anyways, heres picture of my car and I am trying to restore it. Lots to do, as pictured below.

Hi kev!
Nice car you got - not kidding. But definitely some work to do. Are you planning a complete restoration?
Good luck for the upcoming challenges and please keep us informed...

hi people. thanks for the reply. the car engine has already been taken out and will be overhauled. the body will be sent to the welder for metalworks. the chassis seems to be pretty solid, as there was no rust inside the car. also the previous owner might have applied anti-rust paint to the car. the car was neglected in 1997 (according to the last paid date of the road tax) and was left to rust in the rain for the past 12 years! so the rust isnt as bad as a car left to rot for 40 over years. car was one owner for 42 years and im the second owner now.
Hi there!
You will have lots of work ahead, but thats all in the fun. Your car isn't missing to many parts from what I can see in the photos which is great! (Fender mirrors, gear boot, original steering wheel, and some engine components, are the first things that came to mind).
I look forward to seeing updates!

Kev, you were asking me about the carbs.
The carbs you have are the early 64 style. You can tell by the "removable" metal tabs on the top.
Here's a picture of later (65+) carbs.
Now that's not to say that the carbs you have won't work with your engine. They can likely be made to work. I "think" it's in the intake manifold that's different. You may have to get a 65+ intake manifold to mount your 64 carbs, as I believe it's the mounting bolt holes from the intake manifold to the head are different.

thanks, oh by the way, check out your email. still keen to buy the parts from you
ive asked michael the same and has taken side pictures of the carbs. he says its not too early and its able to be fitted. hopefully that he is right

Indeed. If you do have problems with the carbs you can always run the mikunis if your not fussed about keeping it 100% original.
The carbs Smithenhiven showed are on the Yahoo Auctions for almost $6000AUD :/
