Default Beeyond Engineering 9sec Street Civic

Finally finished our civic this past Fri after 1.5weeks of straight out work. Only thing that was actually done when we began was the chassis/cage. Everything else was from scratch. Big thanks to Tony1 for getting the S372 Turbo, 4 bar MAP sensor and 044 pumps on time. Sean/staff at ERL for awesome sleeve/machine work. Bill@Motovicity Wholesale distributors for all misc parts and awesome next day air service. Will@Exospeed for traction....Lenso and M/H combo. All my guys that worked countless hours for the past week.

Only got one run in... Was out testing for straightness/stability and decided to go ***** out on the 1st run. Didn't have parachute and could hardly stop. Downshifted in 3rd after brakes got hot and #2 cyl. valve nicked piston. If I find time I'll get her back up and running w/ a chute this time before the year ends. I honestly think she's got mid 9sec in it. Felt slow to me.....maybe cause the car was going so straight and easy to drive...I love it when it drives so straight and you hardly need to correct the steering wheel even at nearly 160mph. Definitely looking for more power too.

Saw min of 748whp and max of 764whp---(max boost 36psi for now), but didn't care much about power output since it's just a number...just wanted to tune her smooth and safe.

Here's the setup:
-B18c1
-81mm ERL Dartons
-OEM tranny
-OEM cyl. head with Supertech valvetrain
-Exedy Twin
-S300
-OMNI 4bar MAP
-1600cc
-Dual 044
-MSD 6A w/ stock distributor
-8mm NGK wires
-S372 w/ Beeyond turbo system

hey Mike.... long time no talk bro...I'm usually pretty OK with the Pro-Tree lights..just this 1st run I wanted to make sure 2step was building boost before I let her loose...
I finally had the inspiration to get into the single digits...since everyone's in the 8-9sec. So busy at the shop never had time to finish the shop car until now....Been building lots of low-mid 10sec daily driven street setups for friends/customers. Invested lots of time in helping these guys/gals at the track too...kind of forgot about my own shop car. Chassis/cage was already done in 2006...LMAO!!! Need chute and 9sec license....now. Track officials were pissed. I'll be legal next time!!!

awesome.

119mph is ok. 2nd-3rd I early-shifted and fell a bit in lag-zone. I'm thinking 121-122mph 1/8mile should be possible and midish 9's.

what do you usually rev to? i'm curious about what rpm you have to shift at to keep the s372 from dropping out of boost.

It all depends on cams, bore, tune... Best is get it tuned with good a/f and egt. Then record power on the dyno and see where power breaks off. Usually power will stay consistant with these big turbos. If peaks at 8.5-9K rpms I usually take it to about 10K rpms for next gear to reduce lag. If power peaks at nearly 10K rpms rev limiter better be at 11K or more....

Mine has only 81mm bore with OEM cams, but found a few good tricks when i was tuning to make it spool pretty good.

Thanks to you and your AWESOME driving in your Black EK(pictured below...Best ET: 10.0@145+mph) for representing Beeyond Engineering. Congrats to you for being "2009 Pro-Fwd GLDW Import Wars Champion" The meaning of my 1st 9 sec run can never compare to your Championship. Thx a bundle for your representation!! Much success to you!!!

Hey Wil, that was for a customer. I don't think I'm going to 26" anytime soon. I'm confident mid 9s will come with these 25". Hope you didn't get offended... forgot to mention you bro.... you're in there now!!!

Thx for the traction............Lenso/M&H---Best price for the traction.

Lower portion of the run I "early-shifted" from 2nd gear to 3rd gear. I needed more RPMs in 2nd before I shift into 3rd. Early-shifted and car bogged-down to lag zone a bit. She's got more in it. I think I can squeeze 160mph out of her. If not I'll be happy getting into mid 9's with this 155mph.

Using non-divided manifold. Pretty laggy with the 372, but got it to work well even with 81mm bore. Can't recall much, but I think 30psi came at around 7k or so. Doesn't matter though since I'm way past 7K rpms when at full running mode. Even 2-step launch is above 7K rpms. Didn't look at my logs yet, but RPMS on a full run has gotta be 8K+rpms and beyond. never really sees 7K rpms.
