i'm planning on doing LS/Vtec. for anyone who has done it or know of sumone who has it done....can u give me feed back on the reliability? if done right...will it be a good daily ride? i see some done...but it doesn't sound right when it starts.
i found a cheap head and installation for 1 g. that includes the vtec ecu. does that sound about right?

its all who builds it and how you take care of it. And depending on the internals you keep/swap will determine power/reliability.
Sure it'll be a good ride, but hey don't take my word for it. I did the same as you, found a good deal and went with it. Still liking my decision. Just make sure it's done by someone reputable.

MUST DO: replace oil pump to a GSR one.
other things needed are a good oil return line, new head gasket.
as well as the intake and exhaust manifold gaskets.

thanks for the feed back everyone...i def want to go through w/ the vtec installation. my car is just too slow w/o it. my ls gives me enough torque to launch...but i need vtec to finish the job.
imo i would skip the ls/vtec. you get alot of risks. a guy i know has a b20vtec. Use to spank modded gsrs. now he can barely beat them. it depends if its daily driven. actually if i had your motor i would just turbo it; if you have the money tho.
