Diy: Rear Motor Mount Inserts
Ok so last summer before my car broke i picked up so motor mount inserts from Bis. He had done the front mount but never got around to doing the rear mount. I thought these would just slide ride in, but it really wasnt that easy. I looked around the net to see if there was already a DIY, but i didnt find one. So i decided to make one.
Things You Need:
Motor Mount
Motor Mount Inserts
RTV Silicone
Flat Head Screw Driver
Sharp Knife/Box Cutter
2-Pieces of Wood
2-Clamps
Wax Paper

Installation:
ok to begin with this is what the mount looks like

and the insert

as you can see they are not exactly a perfect match, so let the cutting begin
First you are gonna want to cut the 2 pieces of rubber in the top corners like so

Next cut the bottom piece

Next just cut alittle bit off the top of the center part

Next cut rubber that goes around the mount off
this helps the insert to sit more flush with the mount

After all that is done your mount should look like this

Also we cut a little off the bottom of the inserts

Now your inserts should fit nice and tightly inside there
Now the next part is not necessary but it helps prevent the inserts from moving and getting torn
Now you are gonna use the RTV to hold them in place
First apply some to one insert

Then slide it in on one side

Then fill it in with some more RTV and put the other insert in

Next get the 2 pieces of wood and the 2 clamps
Then clamp the boards down tightly, one on each side of the mount
Also you may want to put some wax paper in between the boards and mount because the RTV sticks to the board

Now let it sit for a few days and cure
I let mine sit for about a week, only because im doin a rebuild and didnt need it right away
Finished Product:

Hope this helps you guys
Feel Free to let me know if i need to add anything or if im leaving anything out
