Default crank angle sensor problems

I have a 89 crx hf, has a 97 b20z bottom end with a 94 gsr head, stock harness with a obd1 jumper harness. I just put the motor in and has trouble starting, it throws a code 4, 6 and 10. The 4 is my main consern which is crank angle sensor. I have changed out dizzys and ecu, same problem. I have check the wires and they make connection from the dizzy plug to the ecu plug. idk what my problem could be so any help would be great.

Here is the factory service manual, this will help troubleshoot the issue. It helped me out GREATLY when I was fighting with my code 8, Code 4, 8, and 9 are all the same for the most part. Hope this helps!

Well I tried a new dizzy, ecu, and even ran 2 new wires straight to the ecu. I have no clue I've tried everything. The car that the swap came out of it was just fine.

do you have the distributor wired up correctly? - wire colors are different on OBD0 and OBD1

Orange and White run the Cylinder Position sensor. You need to check out the Blu/Grn and Blu/Yel. B15 and B16 on the ECU.

Blu/Grn and the Blu/Yel are the Crank Position Sensor wires, code 4 on the OBD0 side not the conversion harness.

Did you check it with a multimeter? Does it meet the required resistance at the dizzy and the ECU?

What were the resistance readings at the dizzy? and the ECU?

The issue is either the ECU, Dizzy or wiring.

i tore the dash out, checked the car harness, pulled the engine harness out and traced the cas wires all the way back, changed dizzys, changed ecu's, changed conversion harness, tried to direct wire it from dizzy to ecu, checked my timeing twice. I have no clue what to try now.

The dizzy disconnected was about 350 and then i connected it all back and tested the ecu and it was 297.

There is open wire somewhere then if it was only 297 ohms. To be within spec with the sensor, it has to be between 350 - 700 ohms of resistance.

That means something is wrong, when you swapped out the ECU and the dizzy's did you pull the hazard fuse for 10 seconds to clear out the stored codes just to be on the safe side?

Was there any continuity on either of the wires when you hooked the pos terminal of the multimeter to the corresponding wire and then touching the ground wire to a vehicle ground to make sure there is not any power going through it causing the resistance to be off?

You have continuity on the wires for the Crank Position Sensor when you hook it to a ground? because you should not.

Have you tried putting the car back to obd0 and see if you still have the same code? Maybe something in the ECU or dizzy jumper harness? This is what I had to do to fix my issue when I had code 9, which was actually a break in the crank position sensor wire, it was actually cut under the dash at the white wire.

So to clarify you have an OBD1 ECU with the OBD0-1 jumper harness and also OBD1 distributor with OBD0-1 jumper harness for that as well?

Bump for this
Adi King, i also have the prob of reving only to 3500. I have a b18a1 in a 91 crx. I dont know yet what codes im throwing. will check tomorrow.
Cant think of anything off the top to help. I know the SI, HF, and DX all have diffrent wiring harnesses. I know you said you pulled yours off and double checked it so probly not it. But if you accidently got the wrong one that might make a problem or two pop up.
