SEM Landau Black dye question
Does this stuff come in anything besides spray cans? i want to dye my 97 interior when i do my dynamat install.
Id like to get a pint or 2 of the stuff and use my spray gun to dye the panels. i know it would take 8-10 cans to do all the panels on the interior.

just piece together a black interior. it will look better and be better in the long run. then just turn and sell your gray/tan to help make some money back. the SEM is great for little panels but personally i wouldnt paint the ENTIRE interior with it.
but to answer your question i dont believe it comes in anything but spray cans. you also have to buy the adhesive and that is super expensive. it will be the same cost to go junkyarding and get what you can when you can.

hmm...that i dont know for sure. maybe they didnt. i never really thought bout it. i used the SEM on my speaker pods for my old wagon. i carried tires in the back once and they rubbed against them for the trip and it rubbed the paint off. thats the only reason i wouldnt do it. and yes i followed the instructions and got the plastic adhesive stuff also.
i would just be worried bout it coming off and that would be worse then just having gray. personally gray doesnt bother me. only red does.

i hate the grey of the coupes. its just very dull and does not add any character to the car whats so ever. its like painting a house white inside and out. plain and boring.

Do not use sem landu black on carpet, its terriable.
I sprayed some floor mats with it to test and then did everything it said to make it work using a brush, and then used them a while, it wore off really fast.
sem landu black works great on dash's and other plastic bits, but no carpet..

My local paint shop sells dye in pints...I didn't buy any but I was asking if they had the rattlecan's and he said they only sold like that. You could give one a call and see if they carry it...
i got it. called a local shop that carries SEM but wasnt on there site for retailers and they had a quart of black.. and quart of adhesion promoter should go alot better with a spray gun.
was 65 for the paint and 23 for promoter. not to bad considering most placest want $13-16 a can that always seems to get clogged and give a spatter spray.
holy **** 13-16$ a can?
i used to get those for 7 a can. then they went to 9.50 with a 1oz smaller can.
10 years ago i did my entire interior with it. dash, panels, doors, ceiling. i didn't wanna pay for the primer or whatever and got away with it.
actually, ironically, that dash i did 10+ years ago i just went back over this weekend. it had been in the trunk for 5 years
.
anyway, i only had problems with rubber taking it off. like the bottom door jamb pieces when people pull their feet in. and the dash where a girl liked to put her feet up. but she was hot, so i never said anything. just touched it up every now and then. :D.
i did the bottom dash/panels down the landau black, and the pillars/top graphite grey.
edit, oh ya. i tired to do some speaker covers in my beater with the black once, was a thinner carpet type . it took a **** ton of it to get rid of the old color and that was with rubbing the hell out of it with a brush. i'll never try that again
