Icon6 Problem installing Skunk2 Dual Bend Short Shifter, Washers not fitting in bearing

I have a 00 EM1 and I tried to install the Skunk2 Dual Bend Short Shifter lastnight, but ran into problems when I came to this step:

The pic shows the guy sliding the washer in the bearing effortlessly, but I was having a hard time, I thought about lubing it up and tapping it, but decided against it. It was just not trying to fit. I tried to troubleshoot by going online to look for pics, then found this:

Basically, I have the Dual Bend Shifter, as shown in Pic #1, but the hardware from what appears to be the Single Bend in Pic #2.

Did I receive the wrong hardware or are these pics inaccurately depicting the product, OR??

The How-To in the first 2 pics above^^^^^ shows the guy having the Dual Bend Shifter, but also has those thrust washers, which, from the pics I found online, look like from a Single Bend, so I am completely confused now. Those pics are kind of blurry so I can't tell exactly, so I am asking--- all I know is that the washers are not going in and I don't know whether to force it in there or what I am doing wrong.

Can anyone here with the S2 Dual Bend please vouch or confirm/ advise. I would deeply appreciate it.

I need to know whether or not I received the wrong hardware so I can un-install all this **** and slap on the old stuff ASAP since car is on jackstands.

Thanks in advance!

I came across other pics of the product via quick search and they look like what I got, so is it that the pics above are wrong? I am just asking because this washer is NOT going in and I am really frustrated and want to get this done today

More than 20 views and no feedback? What's up HT, is everyone here just worried about their mad sick offset or what?

I have the same problem as this guy, except he decided to not even install the washers and had no idea they even go into the bearing:

http://www.clubintegra.com/board/showthread.php?t=16693

The included hardware:

As you can see, he couldn't fit the washers into the bearing:

I looked at more pics, I think I do have the correct hardware, I think that shop just took the wrong pics.

Can someone please help me, the car is still in the air--- Need to get it running ASAP

Thank you to the kind soul that is going to reply...

Well, I took my own pics of the problem.

This is as far as the washers will go inside the bearing, on both sides.

Other photo is of the actual hardware.

Someone on the Integra Forums is saying that the washer comes in 2 different sizes?

I am currently talking to Chris at Skunk2 about this.

Are you saying your washers wouldn't fit either?

I just installed this on both my cars, I had trouble inserting the washers into the short shifter as well, I ended up using a rubber mallet to get them in. Had a friend use a small press to get his in.
Also the big washer/spacer is used when installing this part into the integra if im not mistaken. since the integra factory shifter base is much larger then the civic and the washer takes up the slack.

I've tried to post the solution on this forum like 4 times, but the washers go against the shifter and into the shift rod. in other words, turn them around and the smaller diameter end goes into the linkage that goes to the tranny. There is a downloadable pdf here that shows what I'm talking about with pictures: http://www.twmperformance.com/manuals/hondacivic.php

I apologise, but a Trial User posting a link automatically places the post in a list for approval, and only a couple of people can give that approval.

It might take a day, or two, or three for somebody to have the time to go into the admin interface to look at things waiting for approval.

90% of the time, the things waiting for approval are nonsense or Spam, so nobody really wants to go in there and do all that.

And, yes, Zeroforum was easier.

I'm still lost as where to the thick spacer goes, I know the bearings spacers slide into the s2r shifter bearing, then the flat washers sit between the bearing spacers and are slid into the tabs of the linkage, but where does that leave the thick spacer? Between the locknut and the one side of the linkage?

I believe the bolt should go like this:
Washer - shift linkage - bushing - shifter bearing - bushing - shift linkage - washer - spacer - lock nut. This was confirmed by skunk2.
