Well, after doing some researching I decided to stick with the 96-98 rear bumper so that I would not have to trim the perfectly good mudflaps to fit the 99-00 rear. I also started looking at putting on a Type R rear lip, but rear that they will not fit with mudflaps. Does anyone know if it's possible to have the lip and mudflaps with trimming maybe or will it just not look right?
if you can get the trimming jussssstttt perfect on either the mudflap or the lip. it should look fine
you can either outline the shape of the lip on the mudflap and cut through the mudflap
or you can cut off the measured amount off the lip so it fits snug against the mudflaps

I have this same setup. I did not trim them and they fit. Not perfectly no. and I had to do a little convincing to get the mudflap holes to line up, but its on and it works for me fr right now... that is until I get the lips paint matched.

Could you post some pictures up? I have a feeling even if you trimmed it perfectly it's still going to look out of place because the lip is going to be resting up against the mudflap instead of wrapping around the bumper. I'd love to see pictures to those who have done this.

I haven't really been able to find much for pictures on this, but just by looking at the rear lip and how it fits makes me thing it's not going to work very well. Since the lip wraps around the bumper you'd have to trim it to fit up against the mudflaps and you'd have to find some way to secure it to the bumper so that it holds up against it. Also, I think it'll probably ruin the flow of the mudflaps too since you'll have a hard edge looking down from the top and if you tried to screw the mudflaps into it they'd look goofy since they'd be sticking out from the bumper.
I guess the rear lip is something that I probably won't be investing in.

That looks kind of weird. Mine fit better on the bottom I think , they're not crooked like his, but the sides I think on his fit better. I'm gonna have a picture for you guys this weekend, been caught up with school and work, sorry
EDIT - pictures as promised.

Yes it is an eBay rear lip, but you get the idea. It doesn't look amazing, but it doesn't look terrible (IMO)
