i have a 90 crx si 209,000 miles with a zc engine that has lower miles.
has good rotors/pads and last time fluid was changed & bled was 2007,
the master cylinder and brake booster are the originals and never had a problem in the past.
one day someone braked suddenly in front of me and i braked hard and i noticed the pedal sunk towards the floor low and then car started feeling like it was being held back and then i pumped pedal and went back to normal.
couple days later someone at work told me that i left my lights on, so i went out to check and it was'nt my headlights, instead just the brake lights were stuck on, and i looked inside and the brake pedal was sunk low and almost like stuck or locked feeling, i tried pumping it and it did'nt do much but i pulled it up with my hand just a little and was able to get the brake lights to go off.
next day i took my car to this mechanic i know, he just thought my brake fluid was low and put some more in and the pedal was working normal at the time and drove fine also.
then yesterday i got back from somewhere and parked and noticed the brake lights were stuck on again, and it was dark already and i did'nt want to deal with it, so i just detached the negative battery cable so it would'nt drain the battery.
is there some kind of switch beneath the brake pedal that is stuck on or what ???
or is there some kind of brake pedal adjustment i need to make ???
the master cylinder does'nt have leakes or anything.
should i get the brakes bled ??? or flush and put fresh new fluid in ???
i just need some help on what direction to go and what to look for first, thanks
