so there is this noise that i've noticed is getting louder and louder and i don't know what it is.. i have some ideas (throw out bearing, main shaft going bad)...so onto the noise... when my car is sitting there idleing.. i can hit the throttle and the noise goes up and down with the rpms... now, if i push my clutch in the noise stops.. i can rev the car up and nothing.. when i start driving the noise stops for a second.. and then it gets loud again.. and when i'm coming upto a stop sign and have it in nuetral with the clutch in the noise is still there.. but once i stop (with the clutch in) the noise is gone. so, i'm just trying to get everyones opinion on what the noise could be??? i'm planing on getting a swap within a few months.. but i just need to know if my car will last till the end of november.. or if i can simply take the trans out and throw a new throw out bearing in and make the noise go away... Not really you need to open the case to change it, and while your there you might as well do a rebuild. also get a helms manual.

 

i've never done any tranny work, other than taking one out and putting one back in.....
