Default traction in a CRX with a GSR motor?

Hello!
I'm probably gonna buy a crx 88-91 and swap the motor with a GSR. Maybe i will put a type R tranny with the LSD. How much the car is gonna weight? And with about 200hp, will i get any traction in such a lightweight car??

thank you

Well first you need to deal with the OBD1 or 2.....

And you will need to do a conversion to a hydraulic clutch setup if you want to use the type-r trans and lsd.

yeah the GSR motor isn't that bad, improve, suspension, and tires, should be fine you got other things to worry about first like hydro conversion.

You should have no problem with 200 hp just as long as you get some nice tires and a decent suspension set-up.

LSD, suspension and good tries should help.

and if you are talking 200whp, you'll need a light left foot in 1st AND 2nd gear.

would an aftermarket front crossmember w/ adjustable radius rods paired w/ ES bushings help?

the crossmember and radius rods would help with wheel hop, so yes they would help.

the problem you run into with 200whp and a ~2000lb car is that the front end just doesn't weigh enough to keep the front tires from not spinning.

yea i have trouble keeping the tires planted in 1st on my stock b18c and im probably only putting down around 150whp...the reason for that is really cheap tires on my stoch 13" 175/70 tires dont cut it man...

oh yea and you may wanna reconsider the whole hydro tranny...just get a cable with a stock LSD...your gonna have fitment issues with the hydro due to its size and your small engine bay

if you're a good driver with decent tires you'll know where the breaking point is.
I suggest you get a custom front crossmember (Z10) since you'll want one for engine clearance anyway, that will help traction alot.

the only way to really solve your tracktion problems is to find a really stiff rear springs and try nitto nt555r's that combo should be the best for street driving

Do you not realize that the weight distribution is severely biased towards the front in the CRX. The center of mass front to rear is just behind the front edge of the doors. The majority of that 2000 pounds is on the front wheels.

yeah i do realize that but it still doesn't help with wheel spin in a higher hp car.

but i guess more could be due to weight transfer to the back. all i know is tbone is running the new bfg drag radials, has some pretty stiff springs in the rear and he still spun in 1st and 2nd with throttle modulation....

if you already knew you had to do the obd conversion and the hydrolic clutch conversion....you wouldn't have to ask this question...do some research or if your really lazy use the search.

i have no problem with my gsr swap i also i have a 4 puck act racing clutch i almost drive it everyday just be easy on it.. i can spin it all the way to end of 3rd if i wanted to, but why, but i have ... hydro tranny fits fine!!! you just need to make a custom mount... i'm riding on 15's with avs, but i don't think they sell these anymore.. and 200 whp or 150 it doesn't really matter, just feather the clutch on 1st and 2nd...
edit: wuhungsi since you live in sac have you ran your car yet?? times mph tires

On my car, if I put jack stands on the sill behind the front wheels (in front of the doors) and let the front down, the rear comes off the ground. A lighter car spins less than a heavier car as there is less resistance to movement (inertia). Basic physics really.

it depends on what suspension you have if you have some coilovers and your rears aren't that stiff i suggest dropping the back so the car doesn't bounce back that much as to raising it up
