Seen a couple magazines do it, but I would just get an Mfactory LSD or a type R LSD

You get what you pay for. You still have the same stocker diff with all that time and labor you spend pulling everything apart. Buy a real diff or find a tranny with a "real" diff inside if you plan on putting any really serious power down or doing lots of racing.

I believe you can use a Type-R diff. in the GSR tranny, but not the LS.

I know only one person irl who used a phantom grip, after a few months it "came apart" (that's what I heard) and he needed a new transmission. Personally I'd save for a type r trans or a nice lsd from a reputable japanese company.

Installing a GSR trans will wake the car up a lot anyway. Much better gearing. I love my type R LSD.
