Default whining noise help please

my car (1994 civic ex- d16z6 completely stock) has been making a whining noise as i accelerate for a few weeks now. its kind of high pitched and you can hear it over the engine and driving noises through second gear. after second it still whines but you cant hear it because i hhave loud cheap tires.
a budy of mine thinks its the water pump but my water pump was replaced about 5k miles ago when i got the car.

also, i had a blown head gasket and warped head repaired less than 1k miles ago if that helps.

im going to call the mchanic that did the work on my blown head gasket and warped head today about this and a slight knocking noise that seems to be something hitting the timing belp or vise versa.

please let me know what you think

was it a bad water pump or something to do with the timing belt not being tensioned right or what?

well it happened actually 2 of my engines.

when i used to have a single cam, i replaced the water pump and timing belt myself, water pump was a bnib oem honda pump. and after i replaced it, it squealed. then when i got my old b16, it squealed when i put it in...so idk man. maybe it does have to do with the tension...

it shouldnt be that much considering you can get a full replacement clutch kit for less than $200 and the throwout bearing is just a small simple piece in that kit

plus i never replaced mine.. the rings and valve seals went on the motor before the throwout bearing went.. motor had around 200K miles and rode the bad throwout bearing for the last 40K miles probably

I would assume either throwout bearing as previously mentioned, or your timing belt tensioner.

It is under a lot of stress after all. And if your belt and WP were just replaced with out doing the tensioner its possible its starting to whine. Its just a bearing.

Even if it IS too tight that doesn't mean the timing is off, unless it was installed and tensioned out of time already. (If that makes sense)

I would still put my money on the tensioner. When those go out they start to whine.

Either way I would take it back to the shop. But this time maybe try a different one.

Did you ever find out what this issue was? Because it sounds like what my car is doing.
Thanks!
