Default Ground Control Coilovers - Which spring to the front? back?

I bought a 98' Integra GSR that came with a set of GC's. I took them off the GSR awhile ago and now i'm putting them on a 94' Integra LS. When I took them off the GSR, the longer, thicker springs were in the back and the shorter thinner springs were in the front. I was wondering if thats how they are supposed to be because i've seen pictures with the bigger springs in front and the smaller springs in back?

7" or 8" springs generally work fine on an Integra, at either end. With a threaded spring perch (such as GC sleeves), you can set the height where you want regardless of spring length.

Thicker and thinner? They should both be the same internal diameter. GC sleeves are for 2.5" ID springs for our cars (to my knowledge).

Write down the number on the spring, and look up the meaning of them. GC uses Eibach springs, and each spring has length, diameter, and spring rate on them. Once you know the rates, which spring you use in the front will depend on your preferences.

Thanks.

i would of thought the thicker ones would be in the front since the motor is up there

On every set of OEM and aftermarket springs i have seen for Integras, the fronts are longer than the backs...I am not sure if coilovers are they same way however

Not a valid reason to go off of, since many performance oriented suspension setups for FWD cars make use of a stiffer rear spring rate than front rate.

Length doesn't really matter much with a threaded spring perch, unless you go so short that coil bind is an issue.

basically this

try 450 in front and 400 out back, and flip. depending on your setup elsewhere and intended use and preference it's hard to say which way you'll enjoy more. if it's tight autocross there is a heavy preference on rear bias

According to those numbers, I believe your spring rates are 380lbs and 430lbs respectively... now front or rear, I don't know..

OTS rates.
Intended for 430 front and 380 rear.

However, I would switch them and run the stiffer rates in the back for my uses. That's why it becomes a preference thing. Either spring rate is fine for either end, depending on the driver's preference and desired ride height.

I'm running 400/400 currently on my DC2, 8" front and 7" rear. I'm about to swap to 600/550 (both 8"). Length doesn't matter until we start talking about 5" springs that could coil bind, just adjust the spring perch height accordingly to compensate for differences in spring length.
