What Should I Do With My EG Hatch?
I just bought a eg hatch shell. I can proudly say that this is my first ever civic. I really wanna drop a B18c in it, but my friends are telling me to just do a B18B swap, a D16 swap or even LS-Vtec. I bought this shell because I always wanted to build a car from nothing. Keep in mind that im not any kind of racer or anything, I just want a nice DD eg hatch but I also want VTAKK.
For Cosmetics, I really want a PY yellow paint job, but the paint on the car isnt too bad. Its the S2K silver. Not sure if i should just paint the engine bay silver and leave it as is or just go for it and paint it py yellow.
And yes ive already invested in a security. Its me not going to bed til like 7AM everyday.
Any other input would be awesome.

Congratulations on the purchase! Shell looks really clean
I say keep the color, depending on your budget drop something nice into the engine bay (b16a2 etc.), and change the wheels to 15's or 16's. A smaller exhaust would like nicer too.

B18C1 + B16 trans = lots of
for relatively cheap.
very clean shell, where did you find such a thing around here?
how long was it sitting?

Nice find.. looks like the front bumper was cut previously for a FMIC... you should put that bumper to use! If you want to do it cheap, why not throw a D16 with an Si transmission in there and turbo it? If you're going to go B-series, you could get an LS and turbo that. GSR blades would look cool and be cheap, but any other rim you like in 15" or 16" would be helpful to reduce weight and rotational mass.
As for color, I would keep it silver but make the engine bay a different color, like GOLD. Never seen it done on a silver car before... it would pop. Another kind of anodized color like bright blue or red would look sweet too.
Have fun with it! You should make a new build thread with lots of pics if you're going to tackle it.

It was a cheap shell meant for a daily, keep it simple and cheap.
LS motor will be your best choice, paired with a GSR or B16 trans.
Paint the bay black or the same silver, yellow will get a lot of attention. Unless that's what you're going for.

looks like it at one point had a huge front mount in it for a high HP turbo setup. what is your budget? do you like NA or FI?

Kinda wanna go N/A my budget right now is probably 2K. I might just do a ls swap because someone here has one for sale for 500 dollars and I can use 1500 for other stuff.
Found here on Honda-Tech Marketplace ftw lol. I bought it in Bloomingdale near where Ill garage used to be. Its probably been sitting for about a Month. I got the car yesterday so it hasnt been sitting here for too long.
nice find.. get the ls and throw a gsr head on it and thats a nice little daily driver man.

Never heard of H2B I take it?
Clean shell man. If you want to go boost and are on a budget I would go b18b.
It will have some decent pull, about the same as the ALMIGHTY B16 that everyone seems to drool over.
Then boost it or LS/V later on. LS's can make pretty similar power to the GSR's when boosted on stock internals.

depending on your needs and everything.if your wanting straight baller *** gas millage and everything go D16 or d15.if your wanting something around the same for gas millage, but more performance go for a B series.i am looking at going either b20 or something of that nature currently.it seemed like it would be a good little motor, cause unlike most (NOT ALL) honda motors the b20's have tq and make decent power (according to msn auto in a cr-v them motors get roughly around 25mpg).but for the body it's going to need fixed. if you look at the rear quarters they basically just painted over the rust.but i'd say just spray the engine bay black and redo the quarter panels and just rock it out silver. cause i don't know if you looked at paint and everything a good paintjob with jams and everything is roughly around 3k always.

Oh, alright cool. Just making sure. There are a surprising amount of people in the honda game that still have no idea what it is. If I ever get another civic, that's gonna probably be the route I go, or turbo LS.
yeah the shell looks awesome... your plan sounds fine... but if you're looking for something with HP and easy to wrap.... just get the b18c1 or c5... good luck..
a nice daily would be a b16a2(lil torque), lsvtec(decent torque), or b20vtec(amazing torque)........they all have potentiol in theor own ways...its the route you take...
with that eg hatch, i would personally go b16 because people underdog it compared to the lsvtec and b20vtec, but its always nice to beat them with your little 1.6L....lsvtec and b20vtec i would but in something bigger like a coupe or 4door.....
