Hello! I'm very new to Hondas and will probably have tons of questions down the road. My son and I picked up a 95 Sol S. Nothing special but it's still tons of fun. We plan on just cleaning it up and doing some minor mods. The first is rims, which leads me to my first question.....

Looking at a set of used Borbet rims 15"x7" with an ET35mm offset. The guy also said it has a set of 57.1mm hubcentric rings. I've never bought rims before so I could use some help. My questions are....

What is a hubcentric ring and do I need one for these rims? If not what do I need?

I think, from what I've read, that the offset is a little on the low side. Is is too much - will I run into any problems with it?

idk wat a hubcentric rig is but low offset sorta has requirements lol.

from what i understant, if its uber-low offset, then you will need to roll the back fenders and get a camber kit (i assume you all are gonna lower it?) you shouldnt run into any problems unless, like i said, its super-low offset.

pretty much all stock honda rims have a +40 offset, if you pick the correct tire size u may only have to roll the frenders or trim the liners...

No plans to lower it. It's black and I think we're gonna keep the color.

So does the lower offset make the tires stick out further? I have no interest in rolling the fenders. It's a really good price on the rims. I was going to clean them up and powder coat 'em.

Not going to lower it and rolling the fenders is more than I want do right now. Bummer cause the rims are a great deal. Was going to pick them up cheap and powder coat them.

A hubcentric ring is just a metal ring that fits inside the hole in the center of the wheel. It's used when you have wheels with a bigger hub diameter than the hub on your car.

I run them myself on my wheels. They help center the wheel on the hub if the hub is too small for the wheels, if you have hubcentric wheels. I consider them extra insurance against getting a wheel on slightly crooked.

40mm is right for a Civic, but I know people are running lower offset than that... personally not sure what they're doing to make them work.

 

read up and find out what tire sizes have the most minimal rubbing issues...

 

dude those rims should fit... if not get an ebay camber kit

 

if your on stock suspension the offset shouldnt matter, may cause some camber wear
