Default Seattle?

Well looks like I'll be moving to Seattle in a couple of months working for AT&T wireless in the redmond/bothel area (living somewhere in that range). Any cool people out there? Roll call...

Word of the wise about living over here.

There are tons of RUSSIANS who would love nothing more than to steal and then proceed to strip you're ITR to the frame, and bury the rest of the car in their back yard. After mid September it's going to start raining a lot until about July. The cops are ****** about everywhere you go, other than the Seattle PD who could care less if you're car is mod'ed out.

Good luck with the move, it's not all that bad up here. Sometimes..... hehh

"Eastside" of Seattle is where you want to be.

Make sure you don't rent/buy a house along the fault lines.

Lucky you, as soon as you move, it'll start to drizzle until next May.

What's so great about the Eastside? Wow a bunch of stuck up jerks and Russian car thieves. Least rent is cheaper on the West.

I sometimes wonder why there is a 740iL and a 540i Sport owned by two Russian
dudes here at my cheap apartment complex... then I remember to mind my
own business.

Brandon is getting a job in Redmond... try commuting to the area during rush hour from the westside. That's a commute I dare not do everyday.

And, I don't know why some people associate the eastside with snobby people? Just because people live there doesn't mean they are stuck up. That's like stereotyping that everyone in Seattle likes grunge music (still) and wear raincoat throughtout the year.

Yeah, I agree with Cosworth. The commute is what forced to move to the Eastside from Seattle, my commute is only 15 minutes now. If you're working in Redmond, there are lots of places there to rent until you decide to buy, the rates are pretty decent.

And contrary to what people say, it doesn't rain here that much.

LOL

Yah, the traffic around here blows. If I had to make the I-5 commute everyday I would pull a Michael Douglas in 'Falling Down' heheh

And to whoever says it doesnt rain "that much" Where are you comparing that to? The Amazon Rain forest?

I'll be visiting Seattle in mid-September. Any speed shops worth hitting up?

My step-brother and I might be going to Vancouver also. Is AJ Racing worth checking out?

I have a house and apt in bellevue, its a nice place to live but there are lots and lots of rich people around here, my next door neighbor has a gambella(SP?) TT porsche and a 550 marlleno. If you're working in redmond, I would recomend you a place in kirkland or bellevue since it's a shorter drive to redmond on 520. If you have any questions feel free to email or PM me.

Either rent or buy. We will probably have to start of renting. The only thing is I HAVE to have a garage. Two preferably...

One of the only speed shops I know of is TSR Racing on NE 20th
Naaa don't usually use local shops. Maybe on pads or something that I might need really quickly, but I'm a big motor tech-head, and usually will get my stuff from Dave at R & D, or Mike at IPS....only shops I need

Yeah I know about the rain, and the traffic pretty well. Have worked for AT&T wireless for about 2 years and traveled a TON for meetings there....lived in Seattle for 3 months...(Summer) and visited a lot (Winter). Seattle has funny weather...if you visit in the summer you will think its the most AWESOME place in the world. NO RAIN AT ALL. Then fall/winter come, and you think it will never end! Actually did you know that the average anual rainfall is BETTER than Pittsburgh?! It is, so I'm not too conserned with weather...I'm also looking to go back to the "Last Supper Club"!
