help with my wiring please
i get 1 91 dx hatch. get the doodoo point wireharness. i am putting in a d16y7 from a 96 civic dx. i was looking to go to rywire to get a harness but wuld rather save money if can. i want to run the obd2 injectors distributor alternator all obd2. and i was planning on getting a jumper harness to run a obd1 ecu. if any1 can help me with any ideas how to rewire my harness to run mpfi with obd2 engine. thanks mahalo
You will just have to convert the harness to MPFI which is running like 4 wires into the engine bay, or you can buy a DPFI to MPFI to obd1 harness from Rywire or from j-ktuning.com. http://www.j-k-tuning.com/obd0-dpfi-...ess-p-306.html

yes you can use an obd2 dizzy with an obd1 ecu. they are the same internally, just different connectors. you can use the obd2 injectors, all you need to do is delete the injector resistor box. i'm not sure about the obd2 alternator though, it would be easier to just use your original obd0 unit.
trust me, you will be much happier if you just get an ecu jumper. trying to make one yourself will be a humongous pain in the dick.
and of course you need to convert from dp to mpfi.

First - the engine isn't OBD2. The ECU, sensors, and diagnostic stuff are OBD.
You can take any engine and put whatever OBD you want on it (as long as there are provisions for the sensors and stuff).
OBD2 distributor will work just fine with the OBD1 ECU.
Just make sure your wire it up properly.
(dephtone - it's the OBD0 distributor that has different pulses from the reluctor wheel... OBD1 and OBD2 send the same pulses)
You can run the OBD2 injectors as well with the proper clips (obviously you won't need a resistor box).
Not sure about the alternator - can't see why it wouldn't work if you can wire it up.

My fault for putting my post in there, I will edit it.
Thanks for the info guys!
I had thought the pulses were different between all the OBD's
