Default Ls-vtec leaking oil onto my tranny...

leaking oil onto my tranny , i just got a new gsr dizzy, and it came with the oring seal (so i know its not from there.) cant see exactly where its coming from, but when i pop my hood to check it out, i always see the tranny have oil on it. theres always oil puddled underneath the vtec solenoid spot(also near the water neck on the head...)

headgasket or cam seal...wipe it clean and examine it while the motor is running

yea most likely cam seal if you see it near the vtec solenoid... head gasket doesnt make much sense and you would experiece more problems then that if that was the problem (overheating, smoke, power loss, etc.)

so i degreased my whole bay yesterday, and im at work now... and its oily again. it has to be the cam seal, although it does feel like there is a loss of power... my ls/v should be running alot harder than it is.... cld also be my tune though.

since u said u replaced the dizzy ill bet its a kragen oriely autozone one.... thats more than likely whr the oil is leakin from, two of mine did it, cheap parts put in it. its a defect in the housing all the o rings in the world dont fix it. if it a cam seal the oil would be visable from the top of the head down, vtec solenoid usually just the bottom bolt area is whr it leaks from. but on the dizzy it'll leak down and make u think ur head gasket is bad b/c u cant see the trail. swap in a known good dizzy and bet me ur prob goes away.

if its leaking oil INTO your tranny, then its the main seal.
If its leaking oil ONTO your tranny, could be the headgasket, vtec solenoid, or cam seal.

x2 take off the dizzy cap and see if it has oil inside it. this will take a few mins to check. took me months to figure this out many years ago.

You have a itr head right! im gonna bet you $5 its because you have the wrong distributor see it works! but like me im having the same problem and it started when i swapped my obd2 gsr dizzy for a b16 obd2 dizzy, and now it leaks just how yours is and i know its because its a b16 dizzy! and i also changed the oring twice still leaks so thats my guess lol..

if your really want to find it get some oil dye and use a uv light to locate where oil is leaking from and make sure its clean first.
