well my timing belt broke about a week ago, i was only going about 15 mph. Well i replaced all that and set timing. Went to start it and nothing. Pushed it and it starts and runs fine.
I thought it might of been my starter but i took it to autozone and they told me that its fine. My battery is fine too.
Any ideas? All i hear when i turn the key is ONE loud click coming from the starter.
Also i dont know if this has anything to do with it but my hazards wont turn on after the belt broke. it was working fine before. I checked the fuse and its fine.
Its a 96 se.

Starter could have gone bad. Check the connections on the starter and make sure they're on tight.
This has happened to me with three starters, refurbished starters are usually less torquey.
You can try turning your key real quick a few times, it might work. But i would say your starter is going bad.

I dont know exactly but I brung it into autozone and the guy told me it was fine.
I even tried to jump start the car with jumper cables and nothing. Still one click

corroded cables will often let a starter click but not turn the car over, amperage is reduced. clean the cables or replace them if this is the case. another thing to do is check the fat 12V wire, the ground and the switched power at the solenoid, make sure they are okay. if everything checks i would suspect a worn out starter that still turns over with no load but is not strong enough to turn the engine over

ima see if a friend would stop by with his b series starter and put it in and see if it works.
but wat im confused about is that this happened when my timing belt broke.
the car runs...it just wont start on its own

it has nothing to do with your timing belt, unless you drained the battery while doing the belt job.

but it weird tho. becuz when it shut off, (i dint kno the timing belt had broke yet) i tried to start it and it just clicked. thank god it dint crank cuz the belt was broke...but i find it weird that it happened at the same time
as long as they are tight you should swap batteries next & test. if one of the wires isn't tight or a battery terminal isn't tight it can also do this.
i have the same probleem..but minus the timing belt part. Everytime it was cool around here my car starts but when its super hot..it wont? i took my starter to autozone to check it it pass so many times...can anyone on here offer a Fellow honda tech some advice.?

So i got some kind of update i think. Today when i was taking out my friends starter, i forgot to disconect the battery, and well yea, i immediatly saw sparks...On my car i never disconected the battery, and i never saw sparks. Which lead me to believe it could be some time of power issue. So i put in a PUSH button start, ran the wire from the ignition straight to the starter...still nothing. So i went to check the other wire coming from the starter (the kind of thick one, thats held by a 12mm) followed it all the way to the fuse box and it looked fine too.
But i was staring at the fuse box and realized something... My ABS light came on after the belt broke, my hazards dont work anymore, and neither does my horn. All of those come from the fuse box in the engine bay.
So I was thinking...is there anyway that my fusebox might of gone bad, or there is no possible way it could go bad?

Make sure you have enough engine grounds. Try placing more ground wires from the motor to your cars frame. And if this doesnt work try your main relay. located under the driver side dash.
sounds like a bad ground, burned up relay, poped fuse type scenario going on here. i would get the voltage meter and start tracking things down at the battery going to the starter. it should be pretty easy, check fuses, check 12v on starter, check ground and check switched power.
deff do some testing ... i deff agree with evrything that could be wrong connestions, corroded cables, main relay under the dash... check the resistance on your starter circuit i know that ive seen posts to check voltage but check resistance never hurts either cuz u can look at a cable 100 times and it might seem fine but be all corroded inside and u never see it

yea i check that 100a battery fuse. its fine. i dont have a multi-meter. how much do they go for? im kinda tight on money...
there all over the board u can get a cheapy for prolly like 10- 20 dolla or get a good one like a fluke meeter for i think around 500 dollar(yea fluke is a brand, hella good and hella expensive) but the cheap one should do most things ur looking for
First off....Autozone...come on i know 10 year olds who know more than them...second....the starter tests they do, do not load down the starter they simply put power to it and see if it extends the shaft and spins. do you got fire coming out your distributor when using your key switch. i had the distributor bearing go out on me causing my distributor to slowly go bad when it got to the final stages the only way i could start my car was by push starting it.
you need one badly. then you can test your own battery voltage, check for continuity between your engine bay grounds and the points they connect to, etc.
i had weird electrical problems earlier this year--it was a bad connection from the negative battery terminal to the chassis where it is bolted 6 inches away.
