OK, searched a bit but didn't find any conclusive answers, hoping to find some now.
1) I want to remove the bracket on my prop valve to have it powder coated. But if I remove those torx screws it looks like the valve will come apart. One post I found said something about there being an o-ring in there. Does anyone know if it's OK to take apart the prop valve? And if so, where that o-ring can be sourced?
2) After looking at my prop valve (4040) this past weekend it looks to be leaking. Hard to explain where, it's not any of the brake line connections. There's a small "port" or something slightly below the top two brake lines. There's just a tiny drop of fluid coming out of there. Searched and saw people with the same problem, but no explanation on what/who/where/why that leak exists - just that they should go buy another one. I'm guessing I may need to just buy another one as well, but I'd still like to know WHY it is leaking there - especially since if I buy another one it will be used and thus might leak in the future.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

a few people, from what i read, took off that bracket before and to switch to a diffrent bracket to fit there car. I have not heard any problems when they did that.
If your worried about a used prop valve leaking in the future get a new one.
also make sure u get a good quality open end wrench to loosen brake line. I used an autozone wrench and it stripped.
inlinefour.com has prop vlave for $100 last time i checked it was cheaper than places like majestichonda.com

If I take it apart I want to replace the o-ring, I'm done reusing o-rings and gaskets...
Not worried about the quality of a used part, just thinking that buying a used one may only be a short term solution.
Thanks for the tip on inlinefour, I'll have to check and see if their valves are brand new OEM Honda or if they're used or rebuilt. I find it hard to believe they can sell cheaper than the discount places. None of their other OEM parts are priced that well. But if it is brand new that might be worth the dough.
As for a wrench, I only use flare wrenches on brake lines, worthwhile purchase.
Anyone have any idea what the little port is and what causes it to leak?

yea i used i flare wrench from autozone. it still rounded them. I also tried i craftman flare wrench it made it worst. Then i got a snap on which got one of the lines that would have cost me about 90 bucks to replace.
i was also surprised when i saw the price of their prop vlaves.

I contacted IL4 and they said they are brand new OEM. I'm still a bit skeptical, how can they get them that cheap?
