Looks like the Stock Si motor to me. What does the block stamp say? Most of the imported ZCs are Dohc. There are some sohc ZCs floating around. Just check the block stamp for the engine code. It is right to the left of the header between the engine block and transmission. If it says d16a6 it is the stock Si motor.

I saw a couple SOHC ZC motors for sale where I bought my DOHC ZC. They are stamped ZC i dunno the specs though. But they are plentiful in NYC.

i tried checking the stamp on the block or whatever...but it say ZC and the owner or whoever kinda sanded it down a bit...but the person(s) who put the engine in it wrote ZC and the number on the valve cover...
There are a few ZCs that I know of:
The carburated ZC rated at God only knows what hp.
The SOHC non-VTEC ZC rated at 110hp I believe.
The DOHC ZC rated at 130-138 hp depending on your source of info.
The SOHC VTEC ZC rated at roughly 130hp.
Then there's the ZC look-alike 1986-1989 Integra motor. It has only 112hp I think, and it says D16 something on it - not even ZC.
***EDIT***
The power figures for the SOHC ZC could actually be a tad higher because the CR is higher than their U.S counterparts.
The U.S versions of those motors are 125hp for the VTEC and 108hp for the non-VTEC.

but then again i could be reading your post wrong
that my friend, looks like a sohc stock si engine,
the dohc specs as someone stated earlier is 130-137hp and 108-111tq
the sohc btw, from someone's earlier post, is not vtec
1.6L (1590 cc) DOHC
130-135 hp @ 6800 rpm
Bore 75.0
Stroke 90.0
"There are three versions of the ZC that I am aware of, but there could be more
D16A8 Euro. spec featuring EFI
D16A9 Euro. spec featuring Carbs
ZC Jap. spec featuring EFI
The ZC comes with a black valve cover with the cover bolts on the sides
The Honda symbol is on the exhaust side of the valve cover "

that sounds shady as hell! so you can't read the block stamp? or can you hardly read it cause it's sanded? it really doesn't matter what written on it. i can write B16a on DOHC ZC and it'll still be a ZC. if you can't read the block stamp i think you got screwed.

specs, it will beat Civic Si's by a few cars. I kid you not. My friends SOHC ZC runs right with me. I've watched him smack down 2 new Civic Si's in the last month. I don't know if his is really good and mines not great or what, but my DOHC ZC will not pull far on him at all. It came carbed, and the previous owner put an Si's intake mani on it. The previous owner ran 9.9's in the 1/8 consistently. Its not really a bad motor.
Side, anybody know the HP of a D16A6 w/ Teg pistons?

that my friend its an 4G Si engine
the intake manifold its a regular Si one
if u look on the timing belt cover, between all the numbers and **** u going to see the 3 code PM6 somewhere.. that tells u that uses a Si ECU with that engine...
i think that ZC carved in it was just someone being bored....

to all the genius' posting that it is an si motor,
thank you .... please refrain from matter of factly stating things you know little about, it is a single cam zc, they are the same block as a d16a6, thogh the combustion chamber and cam are a little different, i know this because i have both, and the zc pulls somewhat harder, btw my motor orig. came with carbs, as his might of, simple matter of blocking the mech fuel pump opening, and adding an SI manifold, ala dx to si swap,
sorry if this started out in a rude tone, i guess i'm tired, anyways, have fun w/ your motor

Just because you haven't heard of it doesn't mean that it doesn't exist.

I concur... I have physically seen two SOHC ZC engines at the JDM Engie shop here in NYC. They look similar to the Si stock motor but they are really and truly stamped "ZC" as well as having all the warning stickers and marking on the engine written in Japanese
thes are the zc's I have SEEN!
SOHC ZC Non-VTEC
SOHC ZC VTEC
DOHC ZC Carbed
DOHC ZC EFI
That motor could be a sohc zc cause they look just the same but the sohc zc says "d16a6 zc" on the block.

I don't know much about the different engines but I went to the link for ARD Performance that someone posted earlier and compared what the different engines look like.
ZC 1.6 SOHC VTEC Honda Motor
D15 1.5 SOHC 16V VTEC Honda motor
ZC 1.6 DOHC 16V Non VTEC 130HP Honda motor
And last but not least My 1991 1.6L Honda Civic Si 108HP
If I look at all of these pics I would say that you have the stock Si engine.
