1994 Prelude SI - Thermostat repair?
Hey all, I've got an issue where my thermostat on my Prelude is broken (you know the slide toggle from hot to cold). Right now the sliding lever can still move, but it has become detached from the mechanism that actually controls the temperature behind it. Right now the mechanism behind is stuck in the cold position, and since I live in MN, I'm definitely going to want heat here very shortly.
What would go into fixing this DIY? I'm pretty novice when it comes to fixing things like this, so if I'm in over my head and have to take it to a service center or something, what should I be estimating for cost to fix it?
Thanks all.

Hi Night, thank you for the fast reply. Are you saying I can access it from under the hood? I was under the impression I was going to have to remove my dash board or something to get access.
If I could ask you to elaborate a little more on this, that would be reallly appreciated.

Hello Night, I checked it out last night to try to identify the valve you were talking about, but couldn't find it. Could I have you describe with more detail what I'm looking for?
Thanks for your help so far.

Hey all, I'm not certain if I made myself clear about my issue the first time around. I'm not worried about my Thermostat for my radiator. I'm talking about the slider inside the cabin of the vehicle that adjusts between hot and cold. The slider moves, but the mechanism its supposed to connect to behind the dash does not move along with the slider. Anyone have a guess as to what part is failing here? I could really use some help on this as I don't want to give a Honda dealership big money to something that could be a relatively painless fix. Thanks all.
