Default H22 cams

I was told that some of the lower stage cams from different companies could be run safely on a stock valvetrain. I was wondering if this was true, bc if it is, i have a chance to pick up a set of cams unused for a pretty cheap price. Any help appreciated.

Been running Skunk2 Stage1s on a stock VT for about 4yrs/50k miles now!!
This is the only worthwhile cam to do this with.......TypeS=Waste of time, and don't even get me started about the Crower junk-sticks.

I am using them on a JDM 10.6:1 motor. They will work almost the same on the USDM 10:1
I saw 12-15whp/10-12tq gains across the board.

Hmm... Is there some sort of thread of information on Cams for H22s? I have a JDM H22a and was thinking about possible upgrades, nothing major, just Intake/Header/Exhaust/Cams. Who makes a mild Cam?

Sorry for jacking.

Long story short;
Skunk2 made/makes 5 for N/A and JUN makes 1[Stage 2.5 IMHO], and add Bisimoto in if you're serious.......they make custom cams. You will find other COs out there; Crane/Web. They don't make Bad cams, but I wouldn't bother.
Disregard everything you read about Crowers.....they all suck!

About the Crowers.....find some good numbers from them and let me know.
I know that you're Mr Big Power Turbo guy, but I dare say you can argue, and thats why you won't

Time and time again people are thrilled with Skunk2 & JUN cams....../done
Don't take my advice though......I don't know what I am talking about apparently.

So a Junk2 is better that a Billet Web cam?

so all of Crowers **** is junk, make no power? let me see your dyno sheet and ill show you mine.
Then you say, you dont need to degree AFTERMARKET cams
Tell T1 and Bisi web cams are ****, compared to Skunk2. Crower had problems breaking YEARS ago until they corrected the problem. Not saying crower makes the most power, but they are not junk.

hmm... http://www.webcamshafts.com/pages/winners.html

wonder what they run, I run, and my friends Civc that went 9.2 @158
Im finished

crower cams do make power but until they redesigned a couple of years ago they were known for breaking and gave them a bad name. crower is still a good company and shouldn't be turned away because of the past.

Thank god.....trying to keep things easy for the noobs. Sheesh! Did I say Web Cams are ****? Nope.....stfu. Even said add Bisi if you're serious. When you look at the scheme of things; Crower makes the WORST cams for the H22, thus junk. I didn't even mention the past breakage. Not even factoring that.

Quit trying to call me out Turbo boy.....My dyno sheet is all over the place, and extremely impressive for the setup at hand fool......Run some fast times or prove you can drive before you come at me....Your friend runs quick[everyone has fast friends they chat with online].....How about you?

You don't need to degree a frickin stage 1 cam on a stock piston motor.....Can you YES!....Should you YES!

NirVTEC do you have any experience with Pro 1's? I'm loving the torque curve from them. But, I need to know if they have to be degree'd. It'd be alot easier if I could just drop them in.

I have no experience with the Pro1s. I would degree anything more aggressive than the Stage1, and if I actually cared about the DD anymore, I'd do the stage1s also. I installed the cams with frozen cam gears and never even bothered to replace them.....leaving 5-7whp on the table in the process. All good though, once I throw the car away, going to do a TypeS rebuild and toss it in the Teggy! Revving to 7000 for a couple drops of TQ is lame.
Curious to see what kind of shape they are in after all this time/abuse. Car still runs strong so they must be in good shape.

I use Tuner Stage1s in my DD.
