Civic comptech sway/tie hardware kit?
Alright recently purchased my friends comptech 22mm rear sway and tiebar setup to go on my 99 hatch, all the hardware is there except for the bolts that mount the d-brackets to the tiebar etc... Now since I've never installed one of these or any rear sway at that, ive been doing research to find out exactly what I need.
The endlinks and bolts are all complete, and i have the d-bracket's and bushings. So here are the questions
1. Will I have to use backing plates? I figure its not really smart to not use them.
2. Will the stock LCA bolt be long anough to bolt through safely?
3. Are the backing plates threaded or does the bolt go through the d-bracket, through the tie bar, and through the backing plate and become secured by a nut on the back of the backing plates?
4. If I must have backing plates, will ASR backing plates be the same thing (Theyre the only ones ive found that will sell seperate spare parts like that) and if they will work, what bolts/nuts will I need to mount the swaybar securely.
5. Is there anywhere or does CT engineering sell the hardware kit, including JUST bolts and nuts and backing plates, if thats all I needed?
Probably some noob sounding questions but im clueless since theirs not alot of write up's that actually show how the d-bracket is mounted etc.
Thanks for your time.

I don't think CT bars came with back plates, and if they did I need a set then! =X
You can use the stock LCA bolts, as I have used them with no problems.
I don't think you can buy spare CT parts, I may be wrong.
When I put my CT bar together I just used the common 12mm and 10mm bolts from honda. I know one bolt on the D bracket threads into the tie bar and the other goes through the tie bar and subframe and you need a nut back there.
GL on the install

So basically I can take the tie bar into a hardware store and find the right threads to fit the threaded one ( I believe its M8 X 1.25?) and get 2 of them, and find another bolt just to fit through the top hole and a matching nut and washers for those..
So as long as the stock LCA bolt will work, i just need a threaded bottom bolt, and a top nut/bolt which wont be ****...
So Comptech's didnt come with backing plates? I know 99-00 SI's have them welded in stock, but ASR kits come with backing plates.. They sell a set of backing plates for $20.. They should be the same idk tho
Im assuming a large washer would be alright, the backing plate just spreads the load to a larger area
Alright CT Engineering emailed me back, with a attached How-To with great instructions and pictures that ive never seen before.. Lists all bolt sizes and pictures of how everything is assembled, now it makes it cake to get the bolts to install the setup.
I have attatched the document to my post here for future reference if people are in the same spot as me wanting to figure this out
Thanks oneiro for helping me though, your information was spot on with the instructions. The comptechs dont use backing plates like you said as well.
