Our testing has showed that over 300 cfm is possible on the intake of a b-series at 28", and you can make over 920whp at 37psi with properly designed bisimoto vtec cams. I should know,

149 trap is a bit low for 42lbs on an s372 isnt it? I would think that much boost, power should be in the 800plus area or 155+ mph.
How much power did it make? any more details on the setup?

Are your cams degreed in? Do you have a small boost leak? How much timing is the motor? Do you have a restrictive exhaust on the car?
My car picked up almost 10 mph by removing the 4 inch exhaust. I also have roller cams and my motor takes more timing to make power than I thought it would.

lol, yeah. Let take a best on what kind of dyno it is on.

I have seen the s372's make anywhere from 42-50 lbs of boost all in depending on how efficient the engine is and a few other variables.

OP; Something is wrong, i have had cars trap in the upper 150's on less boost and stock ported heads. What cam grind is it?

The head might be my problem the guy who ported it was a v8 guy he did a lot of blown alky motors he looked at the stock head numbers and though it needed a bigger Exhaust valve so we went +1mm on it

watch the vid on top and the middle of the page (its the 2 tone ef) , keep in mind it was only my second time in the car this year, and on the new Outlaw set up I only hav about 7 passes in this year. I had Joe Demaree tune on it at that event.

42psi is a bit much and trapping 149.

you either have some tuning issues, boost leak, cam and valvetrain issues somewhere. I dont know where you are located but if you are anywhere near MILLER, it sounds like you need to make a trip to see him he can help you

my 372R@20psi netted high 120s, low 130s(boost solenoid pooped out on me) but my
S366@30psi trapped 149.5 on a T3 frame turbine housing

I hear you there, Did I mention the car has always felt lazy, and I have never hurt any trans gears. I did switch to a dog box this year , cause I though the s372 was going to distroy stock ring and pinion.

Did you dyno the car?

I had a V8 guy that though he knew stuff screw with my head too and I was far from impressed, what they apply to their heads is not what is needed for our heads, I bet a good chunk of the 15mph your missing is in the head if he went superman on it, I also am at 8.2:1 and my car is far from lazy.

Unless you have some dead people in the trunk it sounds like its down on power trapping 149 in an ef. Is the motor healthy? or do you think the head is taking away that much power? If you have the gsr head ready to go then i suppose thats the easy way to tell or keep changing other things until you figure it out but either way you should throw it on the dyno and retune to see where your at. You sure the logs were at or the car was actually seeing full boost?
