Icon2 98 Honda prelude Automatic transmission question.

Car-1998 Honda Prelude base model Automatic.

Ok, so the past week my transmission was slipping and in a full stop the car would jump forward but the car does not move it's like a jerking move but forward. And like 2 days ago i got the following codes P0700, P0740, P0730, and P01738 (transmission related), So today I checked the transmission solenoids if they worked and they did so what I did next was reset the ECU and TCM memory. After that I tested the car for a half hour low speed and then flooring it and the gears shifted smoothly with no slips and it didn't jerk when it stopped. But my question is was that a temporary fix? or do I still need to rebuild the transmission since those codes above usually translate to a blown transmission. Any help would be greatly appreciated and if you have other solutions or have encounter this problem please post on what you did to solve it thanks

i believe, off the top of my head, the 730/740 are the shaft speed sensors, if so it means it is slipping and you are screwed.

on the other hand if it is the TCC (lock up) you are also screwed.
the converter clutch comes apart over time and clogs up the valve body.

but i don't feel like looking up the codes atm.

How did you reset the TCM memory?? It says to remove back up fuse 7.5 but where? in the engine bay fuse box the only 7.5 is the abs one.

I would suggest swapping to a 5spd or selling it and getting rid of it. I had an automatic and it gave out a couple months ago. Nobody has been able to re-manufacture an automatic that doesn't break. Manuals are so much better anyways

I had those symptoms and the problem was the transmission pressure plates. Definitely not a cheap fix. Pretty much a rebuilt trans.
