Any motor stamped B18C will be from japan and can be either a "GSR" or ITR motor
B18C1 and 4 are NON-Japan versions of the GSR, and B18C5,6,7 are NON-Japan
ITR motors.

Yep, sounds good! Read an article about Spoon and the owner said that the best motors are C4 and C5....Just what he said. I saw it in Import Tuner with the S2000 on cover!

Good thing i did a search...

I just noticed today that my engine code was B18C7 and basically, my reaction was "WHAT THE F?".

So i have to ask.. what differences are there between B18C5,6 and 7? Unless they're just to mark for different countries.. and have no mechanical differences?

what about the B18C3?? i just recently had an argument with a friend of mine, as to weather or not they even existed...later we found out that the B18C3 was a Spoon made/tuned motor...i'm assuming since Spoon had their hands in it, it was fast as ****, but i've never heard anything about it...anyone know the specs?? also, did they actually make production C3's of their own?? or did they take factory type R motors and mess with em, to make them C3's??

B18C - As Steve said ITR Or GSR Engine from Japan
B18C1 - North American GSR motor
B18C2 - Got me
B18C3 - Not Sure, * READ Below
B18C4 - Got me
B18C5 - North American ITR 10.6:1 compression
B18C6 - England and Europe 11.1:1 Compression
B18C7 - Australia (I believe 10.6:1 compression)

* B18C3 - I remember A Thread where Katman and the owner of "Goldie" ordered an Engine From Spoon Back in 97? through a shop in CA and instead of recieving an ITR B18C engine they recieved an engine stamped B18C3 and it had the Specs of a JDM GSR Engine, reworked by Spoon and with either ITR Or Spoon Cams, when they dyno'd it it had about 190whp
(I'll see if I can find the Thread, Maybe Katman can shed some light on that Story and confirm the B18C3 Stamping.)

Edit - He has it Listed on the FF Squad Site

What about the B18CR? I can remeber reading somewhere (legit source) that that was the demarkation of the JDM ITR engine, or did Steve already cover that?
