Recently purchased an 05 Si and brakes were close to needing replaced (Original Pads and Rotors) and had some pulsation. After reading reviews and finding something that meets my tightish budget I went with Satisfied GranSport pads and had my rotors turned, spent $140 total for front and rear.
After fighting the rotor screws on the way off, I got everything off checked pins for play and lubrication, cleaned and re-installed. Opened the bleeder when I pushed the calipers in to bleed off the dirty fluid and turned in the rear calipers. Bled each caliper 3 pumps to check for air and flush fluid a little, found no air and little dirty fluid.
On to bedding pads per instructions 10 times from 30-10 with 30 second intervals and 5 stops from 50-10. (Possible problem is that it was raining quite hard)
I feel that I performed proper procedure but pads lack any initial bite, I cannot figure out where I went wrong the car does stop but with much pedal effort. I read the reviews on these pads before purchase and the GranSport GS6 pad got great reviews on tirerack and commented on "initial bite".
Advise?
