how well does Dupli Color paint shop paint do??
just woundering if anyone has used this paint and how it turned out cause I was thinking of using it to paint my car but wanted to know how it comes out PLEASE POST PICs IF you got them would love to see Thanks
search about it on google-
you will see that the clear isn't that glossy-
in my mind, its not much better than those $50 rusto paint jobs.
if you are going to buy that paint, you would be better off just going to maaco

Good call...laquer is old school stuff. Stick with the Acrylic Urethanes...even a more inexpensive paint like PPG Shopline will way out perform laquer any day.
yeah my buddys car it turned out really bad not sure if its the paint or just him, but anyways my car should be painted by this weekend if it is i will try and post up pics
I have had good experience with paint shop. I painted my brothers old 78 honda cb tank and side covers with it and that thing shined. I used the primer stuff, then laid down about 3 ;ayers of jet black let it dry and then shot 3 layers of clear. It came out like glass and reflected nicely. the only gripe I have is the black wasnt really super jet black it had a lot of brown tones in it. maybe you guys aren't spendingenough time on prep
i painted a lexus sc300 or 400 or whatever black and then shot the clear over it, the car came out like **** but the fenders were actually pretty good... i think its how much time you want to put into it...
because when i shot the clear i did the fenders first and got them super wet looking and almost running, then when i did the car i was running out of clear real quick and they guy didnt want to buy more and i told him i was running out... so when it finished it looked really flat... so im guessing if you dump a ton of clear on every square inch of car it might turn out okay.

ok well ive used this for a couple of cars... and it lasts and looks pretty good.... for people that say it doesnt shine.... wet sand it good and then buff and trust me it will outshine a couple of different paint brands.... also jet black does come out pretty dark... it all depends on how well you mix it... its all on the prep work, and experience, and how many coats you give it.. not to mention.. how accurate you lay down the pain/clear... also wet sand in between coats... primer, paint, and clear,,, you will have a good outcome... so stop blaming the paint as a bad paint... its all on the work that has been done... you will get what you do....

Please explain.
You can sand between layers but it isnt recomended... Wet on wet... I use PPG products and I know it will not out shine DC4000 or DC3000, and I know that stuff dosent have the same solid's in it for a real color sand and polish. The clear comes out like water with no solids about it. I would rather shoot Omni clear the the dupont stuff.... Now if its the real dupont stuff from a paint supply store I would use it, just not the cheap stuff from autozone.

4 year old thread bump? I'm pretty sure he's painted his car by now
crazy, I'm pretty sure he has painted his car by now, too, but when someone comes on a thread and types about how dupli-color will outshine other brands of paint, i'm curious. Also curious why anyone would want to stop in between coats of sealer, paint, and clear and wet sand each coat. "4 year old thread bump?" Time passing and when he painted his car has nothing to do with asking him about what paint brands dupli-color outshines, but thanks for throwing that out there. I am new to this forum, so just curious, is there rules against asking a question on an old thread that isn't closed?
