I know Honda are very reliable and all that but the s2000 doesn't exactly have a easy life with 9k redline.
so what's the:
Most miles that you have seen on a s2k without motorswap.
Most miles you have seen on a s2000 before repairs.

 

You realize people can shift before the red-line right? Other high performance Hondas have done just fine at 8k red-lines, it's somewhat irrelevant. What's your real reason for the post? Are you wanting to buy a higher mileage S?

 

Yes,I realize people an shift before redline but with like f20 your just tempted to go all the way up.
It's just a question,I want to know how far these motors can go.its safe before redline but the rods still get alot of stress from reving that high.

 

there are plenty in the high 100's, and a handfull over 200k over on s2ki.

 

my 99 si has 109,000 miles..still runs strong as hell no smoke nothing...
it all depends..
if the person does regular oil changes...
i change my oil every 2k...
car runs like a champ..i know its not an s2k..but still it does redline in the 8k range..i mean you dont wanna be beating the **** out of the car every single second..but yea..you can redline it a couple times a day i guess with no problems..i have...its meant to do that..

 

I'm assuming they are f20cs since it would be crazy to have 200k on a 04.lol

If you are using synthetic then 5k miles between changes is not that bad. It just depends on how old the car is, and how you drive it.

 

I just got my 2nd s2000 3 months back with 170k. i did a bunch of maintenace and now im at 171945 and still runs great with cold a/c

 

Proper maintenance and a car can damn near run forever. I had a Jaguar that had 260,000 miles on it and it ran strong, I just serviced it regularly and replaced some of the parts before they went bang. I know it isnt a Honda, but Hondas have better reliability than Jags do, so you should have no problem really, just keep up on the maintenance and you're golden

Mine will hit 200k soon enough, right now it has 142k runs great cold ac. The only thing that has been replaced is the clutch at 130k.
