Default dc newb in san antonio

Whats up guys and gals! names dave im 24 and just got my '94 integra about 3 days ago. and i stay in San antonio,tx. I havent been around hondas since i was 16-17 years old in high school.

i actually traded my bike to get the car for my girl. cause its her favorite car.it's " her car " kind of its hard to explain. before i got the integ the last car i drove was an srt4 yeah i know its a neon. lol

but its all good. looking to make this integra in to a pretty decent street/ strip car. you know something with a little bit of power to get around when need be.

the cars bone stock and im the 2nd owner i got it from the original owner. has 194k on the motor. so im gonna be here asking some silly **** if i cant find it using the search first.

if any of you guys are in sa hit me up via pm.

the srt i miss her

the bike i miss her too

Rebuild!!! ahh the 194k has to be hurtin something ha.

You can get bout 50 plus HP with a few bolt ons

Exhaust man.
Cat back set.
Cold Air intake.
Chip the ECU if you dont care about gas mileage.

If you want to get serious where money is no issue... id do a swap. I could be wrong but i believe you have a b18a1 in that integra. lol NEW CAMS NEW BEARINGs NEW RODS the TURBO/BOOST it 15lbs.

haha yeah 194k

first mods i plan on doing is swapping to a b18c,building the head and bottom end.......moneys not that big of a deal. jus have to save for a month or 2.

no reason to buy na parts if i plan on going FI

i was thinking turbo ls vtec but again 194k is no bueno

so i figure turbo gsr as a daily driver. i have no problem tuning. so i wont have to waste money on that. plus there are how to's every where on the web for hondas/acuras

as of now im shooting for 350-400 whp dd. with a fair amount of tq. i know tq in hondas isnt going to happen there's wher the 1 billion rpm redline comes in lol.

like i said before money's not that big of a deal i have a pretty decent job. and so does my girl and shes all about modding the car. so if we save a few check w have a fair amount of money. like 2 months of saving and we could probally afford a gsr swap no problem.if that gives you an idea.

as far as build goes i kind of have an idea what i'm looking at doing.

gsr swap built internals
low compression pistons
3076r turbo or 50 trim.
ported race head
street and strip clutch. something that not to grabby since this is going to be a dd

supporting mods for turbo: ie fuel, exhaust , etc.

some mild suspension work for now

as far as engine management goes i know a little bit on how to tune aem EMS from prior experience with my srt.

i dont know to much about hondata, chrome or any of the others. but im sure they cant be as complicated as the aem ems.

now just finding legit places to get the parts........

Well a 400 WHP isn't going to be an easy DD, well at least what i've expreienced. I'm going to do my turbo build next year, I'm aiming for 300 WHP. Yeah you should get a GSR or even a LS swap and build it with low comp pistons. And if you want it to be reliable, do the seals too.

If you're at 400 WHP, you're going to need like a Stage 4 Clutch. Those are prettty beefy. But those aren't fun to drive in traffic, but thats jsut me.

TallypD16- 94-01 don't come with B18A1's btw. Try the Forced Induction forum, Lots of good info.

i just talked to a local shop they said they can do a gsr swap for 3200-3300 give or take a few hundred.

also told me to keep the ls tranny as the gear are longer and since i will only 1/4 mile he car.

the owner said since i plain on boosting the gsr get some 9.5 to 1 comp pistons and i should be good with those. a few small bolt-ons with some meth i could safley be at 350-400 on a dd and still be comfortable

thats a rip off and no you don't want the LS tranny. and you aren't going to trap higher than 140mph which you can reach easily with a gsr transmission. you have been given somevery bad information.

that 3200-3300 is motor, mount ,ecu, wiring harnes, linkage, install and everything. it sound pretty good to me.

im not saying id get higher traps with the longer gears. i know that. but the gear ratio's in the ls tranny is slightly higher then in the gsr tranny......

also why swap out the tranny if i dont have to..... i dont plan on ever trapping 140mph. im looking low - mid 11's and with that you normally only trap 130 or so

its a ripoff. but if you want to pay it then you're throwing you money away. You are going to regret having an LS transmission period. You're going to want to have shorter gears than an LS for what you want to do. GSR is a perfect choice.

instead of being so broad with your opinion how about stating why its a rip off? and why i will regret having an ls tranny.

Im in sa too well i already had a b18c but blew a hole in the blocki got a full engine from jjs motorsports down ingram for 800. His friend was selling it. Charged 300 to drop n pull engine. He has some monster cars 850 whp on 60% cycle n a 750 whp n a 450 whp for a daily driver. If u need a good shop id choose his r nyugens by leon valley is tha best but everyone knows so ur car may take a lil longer.

it is a ripoff because the pricing is too high. I dont need to explain that. You will regret an LS tranny because you will not go fast enough or make enough horsepower to need gears that long. the same engine setup on another integra with either a b16 or gsr transmisssion will run better times than you every day of the week. the LS trans is made for economy gas milege, plain and simple. your best bet is to make a hybrid gear transmission set up utilitizing b16 1st and 2nd, GSR 3rd and 4th, and LS 5th gear and incorporate an OEM LSD. thats the perfect Transmission. Does that work for you Dave?
