so i just got done installing a lightweight flywheel and a b16 trans, and now when i go to start the car, i turn the key and i just hear a click, and then ill keep doing it a few times then it finally start....any ideas? im stumped...i made sure all the connections on the starter are good.
Is the "click" coming from the starter solenoid?
If so, have someone hold the ign. key to start then tap the starter solenoid hard with something metal, [big screw driver, wrench, hammer] if starter works replace solenoid.
The other possibility is the batt. cable terminal, [stud] on starter motor has "turned", over tightening the nut that holds batt. cable to starter motor stud can turn the stud itself, making for poor contact inside the solenoid, the best way to fix is to remove cable spin nut back on, spin on a second nut and tighten nuts to each other, undoing bottom nut and tightening the upper nut so they lock together, then turn the whole stud a tiny bit, [1 degree] tighten stud nut, reinstall batt. cable making sure the stud does not turn. 94

are you talking about the stud thats attached to the starter itself?

Yes, I have fixed that problem on more then a few Honda/Acura including my own 94LS.
When stud is turned the high current contacts are misaligned, making for small contact area that will easily arc making for poorer contact until arc burns contact so bad no connection is made, turning the ign. key repeatedly to start can "break away" arc deposits enough to make contact, [same as tapping solenoid can] this of coarse will get progressively worse until no amount of turning ign. key to start, [or tapping] will work.
The fact that it hap pend after replacing parts is just coincidental. 94
