Hey Guys,
Since I've been out of work for a while I decided to start my own public service, rebuilding trannies for fellow enthusiasts. Just showcasing some of the stuff I've done, I've only partially documented 2 of 7 builds. Next working on a piece for Mr. Nasty Nate! My Boy Bobby...I think is inline as well, currently doing a lsd ys1, in the future 3 of my own are going to get the same treatment! :bang:
My Boy Christography:
* New 3rd gearset
* Synchros
* Bearings
* Internal molybdenum coating http://www.metcoat.com/molybdenum.htm
* Seals
Before

After

*hug*

My Boy John:
* General complete tear down
* Clean inspect
* Resurface
* Seals
* Hot Tank
* Bead Blast ( Transmission was thoroughly cleaned, washed numerous times, and flushed w/ no phosphorus cleaners )

ummm explain what nite grind is? lol sorry i never heard of the stuff ! what does it do how does it work. looks cool
Problems its going to have from the coating. Might ruin the case. The bead blasted case you edited in will likely have problems as well.

Hey aqua,
that img removed was deleted by me. I was on my iPhone, I was trying to add info. Mistakingly delete info. I will correct it when I get home to my comp. The moly coating is absolutely harmless to internals. It is actually very thin, scratchable, as well as removable. Not only does it protect it is a lubricant. Added this is so harmless you could put it in collant pipes from experience. If you have more info. On why it would be harmful please let me know.

Parts were coated that shouldn't be. Did you shim the mainshaft after having everything coated. Coating doesn't last long anyways. Likely will only last a few thousand on a street car.
On the media blasting, machined areas are machined for a reason.

Yeah,I did. I can't disagree w/ some points. On the other the customer requested it to be blasted as such, so it was done. Since it's not a pressurized system I doubt it will be too much of an issue.
Shim clearances are going to be thrown off when the coating wears.
The blasting will be an issue. Especially if it was glass media at the incorrect psi and distance.

I don't know why you would blast the inside anyways. A clean shop rag and you've got it all clean in 2 minutes anyways. I wouldn't blast the inside of a case with anything other then brake clean or a parts washer.

That's true rare, I appreciate you chiming in. I don't even bother w/ negativity if they don't care to share why. If I have to learn by experience then let it be so. Some things were done by request and not suggestions.
Not to be an *** but this is what we do (Bone does it on the side, I do it full time). We're not being negative, but we're not going to hand out info for free to a competitor that it took us time and money to learn. If you can take what we say though and figure it out, you're better off than you were if we hadn't said anything at all.
