possible coilover woes?
Recently I've been experiencing some weird things from the front driver side of my 98 civic hatch
When driving on the highway, I can feel that wheel vibrating a little. When taking hard corners that put pressure on that side (I road race nearly every weekend) I feel what it seems like the strut bottoming out. In addition, when I turn the wheel all the way left and drive it in the circle ( I was trying to diagnose the problem) I hear a weird like grinding/crunching noise? It's a hard noise to describe for sure. Sometimes when I brake the vibrating gets worse, other times it doesn't (I do have warped rotors so that's part of the source there). I'm confused at what it could be.
First off, it's lowered on tanabe sustec pro s-s coil overs (older version without helper spring etc) with omni power UCA's.
What I've checked:
-UCA ball joint (checked out to be fine these are about 2 weeks old)
-Everything is tightened.
-I did a few tests on the strut and it seemed to check out fine, I couldn't fine a leak. Sometimes it feels still in dampening, others it seems less and then it goes back to normal.
-I jacked up that side and tried moving the suspension from side to side and top to bottom and it seemed to be pretty darn stable.
my last two guesses are axle or strut. I'm not sure how axle could do this but I've never heard that grinding noise deal from a strut.
Thanks
