1996 Accord LX non Vtech- Cooling fan does not turn on when temperature gauge reaches above the half way point. If I turn the ignition off, the fan turns on. If I turn the AC on, both fans turn on. I have replaced the temp sensor and both switches for fan on the front and back of engine. I have also switched the relay with the exact relay from the power windows in the fuse block under the hood. Temperature gauge is not going as high as it was before I replaced the Temp sensor but still gets to the point where the fan should kick on. What could be the issue ?

 

possibly a bad fan swithc then you replaced it with a defective one from the store.....take it back n get another...i forget which one controls the fan while car running

 

i had the same issue i changed thermostat, relay, switches.........and overall it ended it up being an unplugged fan switch near the transmission.....just letting you know
