hey so my gsr crank is slightly scratched on my number 5 main bearing journal. like i can see it and i can barely feel it with my nail. this is a stock gsr daily driver and im gunna b using brand new acl race bearings with clearances around .0016-.002. i've already plastigauged. do u guys think this will straight up ruin my bearings real quick or considering the clearances are on the loose side, mayb the extra oil will protect it a bit. im just tryin to get by until i build my new block in like 6 months.
pixoors?
why are you going with acl races and such loose clearances if its gonna be a daily driver?
i doubt you're even going to measure and if so probably wont adjust them if theyre within your "acceptable" ranges anyhow

bearings have whats called babbit on them which allows them to conform to journal imperfections and can embed dirt and contaminents. with that said, its up to you if you wan't to machine your crank journals.

im using acl because its cheaper than oem and people swear by them. they're loose because its the standard size and i guess my crankshaft has been machined by a previous owner. with oem bearings i could have gotten better clearances. i might end up picking up another good crank, but im gunna see what my local shop says
