Up for sale is my used KAAZ LSD for B-series transmissions
I bought the LSD used from a local racer and used it in my track car for a year before pulling the trannsmission apart to have it rebuilt with fresh syncros and investigate a passengerside axle that was popping out intermittently. While the transmission was opened up I noticed that there seemed to be excessive wear on the passenger side hole where the axle goes into the case. While functionally the LSD works perfect this is likely the cause of the passenger side axle occasionally popping out while driving. Rather than spend the money to (a) order a new Kaaz differential case and (b) pay to have the Kaaz differential case taken apart, reassembled, and then reinstalled - I opted to just throw in the stock ITR LSD that came with this transmission when I bought a few years back. You may ask, "why not just order a Kaaz differential case and retain the Kaaz LSD?". Well at the time, I needed the car ready for the next track event pronto and didn't have much more than a week to get everything assembled and put back together for the Super Lap Battle Qualifer event this past April at FIR. While I would love to pull the transmission off the car now and try to rebuild this Kaaz LSD, I'm content with the way it drives now (even though its not as fast through the corners) and need money to help pay for some out of state events that I have planned this fall/winter.
***With that being said....whoever buys this will have to replace the casing of this LSD for it to function "like new". The LSD is being sold as is. No returns. I am offering this for a fifth of what you would pay new with the idea that whoever buys will invest a little money and some time/effort and have a kickass Kaaz LSD. I will shoot all the high def pictures you want to make sure that you know what condition the LSD is in prior to purchasing it.***
The "guts" of this LSD are in excellent condition. The spider gears are flawless and all plates and clutches are still in "like-new" condition. Kaaz internals are identical for ITR/GSR applications and B16/LS applications so you can buy whichever Kaaz case you need to fit your application. Which case you buy is really dependant on which transmission you will be putting this into. The reason that the ITR/GSR transmissions use a different Kaaz casing than the B16 / Integra LS transmissions is due to the bolt pattern (i.e. wider) of the ring gear associated with the final drive. Basically the internals of this LSD will work with any B-series application, but you must match the Kaaz diff case with the ring gear / final drive that you are using in your current transmission.
The difference between the way the car accelerated through corners when I had this Kaaz diff, vs. the OEM ITR helical LSD that I have now is night and day. I'm sad to see it go, but I need the money for 2 out of state track events coming up this fall/winter. This is an awesome opportunity to own a $1,000+ LSD for a fraction of the price.
Kaaz sells these for $967 (that's on sale from $1,075 kids).
I am selling mine for $195(figure another $250-$300 for a new case).
I will ship for an additional $14. My feedback speaks for itself. Paypal (please add 3%) or money order is fine for buyers who want this shipped. Cash money or gift cards to Safeway/Albertsons (easy way for locals to buy this on their credit car) is fine for locals.
Thanks for reading my novel, please PM or bump with any questions.
