Use what ever weight the manufacture recommends for oil weight. Here at Bisimoto Engineering we use Torco oils. We have seen Hp gains over many other brands and we stand fully behind this product. If you are interested we do sell the Torco Line of Oils.
i would go with the 5w30 since your out in Minnesota. wouldnt go any higher than 10w30. if your not running in the higher rpm range all the time you wont need to go with a thicker viscosity. why would you want to use anything other than genuine honda transmission fluid? get the colder plugs man.
Thanks guys so get the 2 degree colder spark plugs and mobil 1 5w-30 my friend told me to use 10w-40 but I guess ill go with the 5w-30 and for tranny fluid use genuine honda fluid with lucas oil stabilizer thanks and thats 142 whp without nitrous thanks

I'd use 10w-30.
And as for tranny fluid, I use mobli1 as well , the same oil that goes in my car, goes into my tranny.
I have a really good friend who's a ASE and honda certified tech.. they use mobil1 in their cars and tranny.. "honda" MTF is just to sell for 20 bucks a quart.. if you wanna use it.. off the self, they put motor oil in their trannies. At least thats what he told me.

thanks for all the help
I hope my car runs a little better after all of this also how do you break in a clutch I know its a really noobish question but I have never done it before it is a excedy organic clutch and a s20 tranny booo also should I use my ebay short shifter or my stock oem shifter thanks

oh yeah for a 50-75 shot of nitrous shuold i change my timing and should i add timing or take away timing thanks?
oh yeah does anyone know how high you can rev a stock d16z6 safely and whats a good shift point too thanks 7600 right now maybe higher or end up messing something up
Oh yeah i forgot to mention i am running 10w-40 mobil 1 oil right now in my tranny and motor and shoul i change my viscosity in either one because im about to put in a new tranny because the old one is going to crap out soon thanks?
i personally used synthetic motor oil in my tranny in the past. never had any problems, i also used mobil-1. and like someone mentioned before its cheaper than honda tranny fluid. i used 10w30 royal purple in my engine. the reason for using the 10w30 in my engine was mainly because my h22 would consume 5w30 oil like it was Gatorade. you dont have to use 10w30 but it will hold its viscosity value longer than 5w30 in harsh driving conditions. if you go too thick on your oil it wont circulate as fast as the lower winter number would in start up. so there's less protection if it gets cold enough when your engine is starting up. also the thicker oils will be more prone to sludge. as for your shift point i couldnt say man. it depends on how your engine is built/balanced/tuned. but high rev shifts will take their toll on your gears so you might want to invest in the tranny. or just buy an extra d-series tranny from the junkyard just incase.
oh and about the timing with the nitrous, you want to retard it not advance it. i think for every 50hp you want to retard your timing by 1-1.5 degrees.
I'd use 10w-30.

wtf 20$ a quart...
its $3-4 a quart at my local dealer...
i use pennzoil synchromesh for tranny and valvoline 10-30 for engine. valvoline is good enough for me since i change it every 2000miles. no need to waste extra money on mobilone
not bad, its $7 a quart over here in san diego. and you wonder why they call it the golden state.
thanks guy but should i stay with my ebay short shifter or go back to my stock shifter right now im using 10w-40 should i switch to 10w-30 or stick with 10w-40 for both my oil and my tranny thanks and decrese the timing about 3 degrees maybe for a 75 shot and how do i go about that because i havent put on my adjustable cam gear i know its a really noobish question but i want to learn how to do it i heard you just move your dizzy so somebody please help me out so i can get everything running today and can somebody please tell me how to break in my excedy organic clutch please thanks and is their a way to resurface your flywheel yourself thanks!
id say go with royal purple 5-30 or torco, torco is expensive but from the dyno charts its proven to make hp somehow, also go to honda and get there tranny fluid best stuff for the tranny.

The Bisimoto price on Torco SR-1 is only 50 cents more then Royal Purple. For the performance and protection given from Torco Oil, 50 cents isnt that big of a price to pay
$16 for a quart for something that is dd so not worth it. if you do your oil change 2000miles or so. any brand name regular oil is good enough...
