use the 91 flywheel and clutch - the transmission you use with the larger 90-91 flywheel and clutch doesn't matter as long as the transmission isn't 88 model - all 89-91 transmissions will work with any 89 clutch and flywheel or any 90-91 clutch and flywheel

Correctomundo! Yeah I had a 89 si tranny with a d15b vtec in my 91 dx, used my 91 dx clutch and flywheel on it, everything worked fine. It's sitting in my garage now only cause the diff broke in it, but that's my fault.

the Si Final Drive has 16 teeth on the countershaft and 68 teeth on the ring gear -
the DX Final Drive has 18 teeth on the countershaft and 70 teeth on the ring gear

you can use the clutch that is already on the car if it's not bad. That's what I did. It was just fine for four years with my d15b vtec. When I swapped the d15b vtec out when I hydrolocked it, the clutch had wear around the springs so I put another clutch in.

I have a zc vtec in there now, which is basically a d16z6. I like that swap, I like it better than my d15b vtec. Mainly for the torque, I used to have to downshift my d15b vtec down to third gear when exiting onto an onramp. With my zc vtec I can keep it in 5th if I want and it won't act like it's about to bog out on me like the d15b vtec did.
