How do I stamp a 1 after H22A
How do I stamp a 1 after H22A. What can i use thats cheap enough to stamp a nice and neat number on my engine block? please no giggles..I just want constructive information.
Truthfully that makes no sence....lol but then again see where you live.... go to home depote and they have number pins that they sell and all you need is a hammer to stampa the block.
Looks like harbour freight carries metal stamps. My friend can't pass the ref inspection because the H22A is JDM. California standards apparently won't allow a A 95 JDM H22A in a 93 US civic hatch. So he needs a 1 after h22a to make him happy. (:
if you have any other info please let me know.

they know the difference between a jdm and usdm block? when there is exactly 0 difference between the two? If they can pick that out, you don't think they'll pick out a freshly stamped number thats a different style/size then what Honda did, and will probably be crooked? Can you get in trouble for some kind of fraud with this?

Thats fraud and I'm sure they could tag with a few other violations too.
Way to try to beat the system and end up with no car....
One day, people will be smart enough to think about stuff like this before they throw their car together. The issue has only been addressed like 23964298 times.
Its a little funny to think someone would do that [after] now.
OP, tell 3 friends about this so others don't make the same mistake.
It is in my town, if you aren't throwing any extra emissions out the butt and can still hook a scanner or whatever then you're fine, right?
I don't know how the left side of the country works but we're emissions free here in sunny FL.

Same here in most of Ohio. The next county is getting rid of the E-check early because it's been proven useless. Sorry about you Cali boys. Just swap the motor out for inspection and swap it again later. It's a lot of work yeah but you will need to detemin if it's worth it.

Its like the obd2 guys doing big builds/turbos in Chicagoland, swapping to obd1 and then being screwed come emissions time. They can barely get the car to run with obd2, much less go to emissions with no CEL.
wow good info and yes it is very shady. If i did accomplish adding a number would I still run into the problem with the horsepower the refs computer or compression or somthing. Im really not in the mood for swapping another h22a1 in and getting it inspected.
go to a different ref. I know that here in norcal they dont like the jdm motors. but some of them will ref it.
In yuba city i have seen a few jdm motors get passed. You might have luck at Butte college as well. some will some will not.

you could use a small chisel to mimic the honda font... but i live here in sane land where only the actual emissions matter and not some random sht they decide they don't like.
or if you have ocd you could put it to use by taking a fine craft hacksaw to a junkyard and trimmer off the full usdm mark and using some aluminum epoxy to put it on the JDM block o.O .
i dunno.. i just pulled that outta my ***.

I see..
Cutting a code from a junkyard engine was a fun idea LOL
If i could find a ref that was a bit more lenient or less educated that would be ok with me. If anyone knows a ref who might pass me please pm. (:
otherwise I'm still looking for an H22a1 hopefully just to borrow.

Seems easy enough. Insert TypeS pistons into an h22a1 block with h23 crank/rods.

For 23 years of age OP, your not the sharpest tool in the shed.
Thats why you should follow NirVTEC's idea and just find a USDM block and build it.
Out smart the system, don't get caught doing fraud.
