Ok here the deal i have a guy from another city about a hr away selling his pro2 cams for h22.Ive had the pro2s for Bs & they said p2+ now his say P2E & P2I & bought them from CFT in orlando FL. he claims they came right out of the skunk2 box & hes being very reasonable about trying to contact skunk2 & posting on here & swears hes not ripping me off . ive know him by racing a few times & just became car buddys so to say.

he no longer has the skunk2 boxes "of course"

SO any H22 guys out there have pro cams & remember the markings???

i did a google search found one tread on some unknow site & with the same 2 numbers E & I claiming pro2s with also no box or specs & for B series.

called skunk2 right at 5 there time & the guy says p2+ & never heard of these numbers but he did say a p2vv & some other numbers of the new pro cams but they never got released that he knew of.I asked whats the new style cams then he says nothing the guy that stamps them was just geting ahead of him self?hmm sounds like some secrect knew pro cam maybe?

neways besides that HELP!!!!

 

you can also see that the 2 on the I cam is small compard to the other one which skunk2 did say its hand engraved so i guess thats not a big deal.

Sorry forgot camra at bro's place will post em tommarow, Mine were bought right after pro 2 came out, on the tranny side of the cames on the 1st valve runner ex cam it has a hand carver "10" and on IN cam same vavle runner it has "9" hand carved thows were the only markings I found. you will see the pic tommarow if i get to it.

 

thanks man! yeah ive talked to brian & he thinks there real but the intake cam says looks a lil odd. He did say he would be lying if he told he hes seen that marking b4 but he has seen there cams not say p2+.

so im kinda stumped on should i buy or not its a really good price only 250.

 

I've got one hell of a solution for you.

Get lift/duration/etc. specs on the cams and buy yourself a micrometer, if the guy is only an hour away it would be worth the drive to check it out. Or have him meet you half way? Take measurements and compare them, if they match then theyre the right cams. If they dont, be on your way.


My $.02 as to what i would do anyway.

i asked brian from skunk2 if i could do that n give me the correct specs he told me no that there are to many cams that are like theres.

i would take a someone who's really familiar with skunk2's and other aftermarket camshafts to check em out, if u dont have any connections find a shop/garage/engine builder in that area and take the cams there to see what they think.

my first rule of thumb: never by used parts from anyone, unless you know the guy personally. i myself would never buy used cams. there's been too many times i have seen someone on here in a dilemma because they bought some used cams. would you buy used bearings? i bet not. some things just aren't worth buying used.
