High-pitched noise in higher RPM.

High-pitched noise in higher RPM.
Hey all.
I have a 1996 Honda Civic EX Sedan. The original 4-speed automatic transmission died, and we got a 5-speed automatic transmission swap from a 2000 Honda Civic with 70K kms on it. Anyways, the main point of this thread is that everytime I'm giving the car more gas and go past 5000 RPM, a high-pitched noise is heard coming from under the hood. Any ideas what this might be? Need a video?
NOTE: The engine check light is on, but our good mechanic friend had a device which said that there is actually nothing wrong with the car. Still, there's another thread that lists instructions on how to check what's wrong anyways, right?
