anyone ever reuse rod bearings?
I'm sure people have, no questioin about that. Depending on the circumstances its very possible to reuse them if need be. I'm just so **** I don't think I'd ever allow myself to reuse bearings. If you had a bunch of detonation or any other significant carnage I would say don't reuse the bearings. Its likely they took a pretty good beating leading up to the tear down.
Not a problem if you have the ability to mic them up and make sure there is no distortion and make sure there are no shiny spots or scratches. If they were in a car you absolutlely knew ran fine then I would just check them for shiny spots and scratches.

As much fuel as you ran through the cylinders down into the oil I would consider replacing them, you had so much fuel in your cylinders when the injectors where wired wrong that it was hydro locking. That is probably why your engine was smoking not from the rings being installed wrong. just my .02 cents homie
ive reused bearings but i do a lot of ghetto ****. i would inspect them for scratches and just for the hell toss some cheap plastigauge even tho isnt 100% accurate if anything just to check.
k. i bought new bearings. i got new rings in and put them on.
il put it back together when i get a new hedgaskt and bearings if it all fails again il set it on fire or sell it all. thanx

If the bearings don't destroy themselves quickly or you haven't cause damage to them with your mishap then there fine. I ran the same bearings all year long in a 1000+ hp car and plan to reuse them. These things last for 200,000 miles people. Why can't you look at them after 50 miles and reuse them. lol
mmm thanx. i dont care anymore at this point. ima wing it...reuse head gasket too....ok maybe not that

I've reused metal head gaskets and rod bearings before. If it was only 50 miles, no overheating, no boost, no abuse, I'd reuse everything except the intake manifold gasket and fluids.
