Default b16b?

hey im trying to find out what internals are in a b16b. im trying to put together a quick little all motor bulid for my work car. i have a b18c block with busted pistons, and i have a couple b16 cranks and heard that the b16b runs that crank. looking to do 12.5:1 cr. does anybody no what rods and what pistons to use?

your question is a bit confusing... If you have a b18c block why not use b18c rods and crankshaft?

The b16b block is the same as the b18c but due to crank/rod dimensions it is destroked to a 1.6.

Exactly why would you want to destroke a b18c? If thats what you are set on, then yes a b16b crank is the same stroke as a b16. The b16b rod length is different then all other b series rods.

i want to destroke it to have a better rod ratio. this is my first all motor build, i've only ever done turbo builds. im just looking to do something diffrent. im looking for a high reving engine. and in reply to 97ctr the rod length was what i was worried about. so i would have to have rods and pistons then to get the ctr ratio. ok, do you by chance no if i can use the b16a crank with the type r rods and is there a piston that would work to get around 12.5cpr or would i have to get custom ones?

b18c block + b18c head + pr3 usdm b16 pistons = 11.7:1 CR

b18c block + b18c head + p30 JDM b16 pistons = 12:1 CR

I would start there.

dont worry about revving high, youll rev plenty high with b18c and make more power. people spend alot of money to upgrade their 1.6 to a 1.8 L.

that is exactly the same build i am doing but i am using a 85.5mm resleeved B18B block for mor displacement, 1.72 rod ratio, and mor compression.

u wil need custom pistons for that compr. ratio

B16B rods are 143.45mm long but they are narrower at the big end and the piston end by 2mm. u can use the pistons but not the rods.
