Default Dumbest shop ever!

Sorry if this offends any mod, but I have to share my experience.....

Ok, I won't say their name, but they have two locations in WA. Woodenville and Tacoma. Most people in this area should already know who I'm talking about by now. I called the Woodinville location asking for a D16Z6 swap or even just a longblock or just a tranny. He had none. Not even a 96+ EX swap. Ok, no problem, I'll just try again later in the week.

He then tells me I can use any B series tranny on my D series motor. He said just the gear ratio would be different. Also says he gets $1000 for each tranny.

I got such a great laugh. The shop I was at did too. Just thought I'd share my days adventure in looking for a swap.

There is a lot of shops that don't know what the hell they're selling.....

I saw a 99-00 Greddy lip last week at a shop and then I asked the guy what car that lip was for. The supid *** told me a 96 Civic 4 door only .... I just left and laughed for the rest of the afternoon.

I asked how much they sold them for and he told me $400 and i asked how much they charge to install them if i buy from them, and he said $200. WTF?! I couldnt believe someone was actually telling me this. I got the everything for about the price of their install alone!

$300 for install?! I wouldn't pay over $80, if I were gonna pay. My shop can lower a Civic in less than a 1/2 hour.

Oh ya, than same place I mentioned about wants $2k for a SOHC VTEC swap. Couldn't believe it.

I go to R-Sports Performance in Bellevue, WA. They treat me the best and have given me the best prices on just about everything. Plus I'd rather pay more to a shop that knows what there doing, rather than finding the cheapest place. I'm closer to the shops in Tacoma, but don't like any of them. I've seen some incredible work and the cleanest jobs performed at R-Sports.

The other shop I encountered deals with used Honda/Acura parts only. They don't perform any work either, just sell parts.

Sorry I won't mention their name. Their known for great quality on parts and a decsent guarantee. This guy just didn't know **** about tranny swaps. And $2k for a SOHC VTEC swap, get real!

Yea...$300 I absolutely hate that shop. I refuse to spend $.01 there. They create the most ricey nasty CRAP around and claim they are fast and its just dissapointing to see and to knnow people pay those inflated prices to get simple stuff done there just cause its the only shop in the area. DAMN SHAME!

You must be talking about MeanStreet. They are not the only shop around there but they have been around the longest. None of the shops in G-ville know whats going on. Pete is a greedy *** anyways.

I went to a honda-acura "specialist" to see about getting a B16A put in my 93 hatch. First the guy keeps insisting it an "integra twin-cam motor". than he tells me he will do it for 500$. i was like kinda scetched out after that and than he said it would take 6 monthes. i kindly jumped in the cx and laid down every bit of 70hp to the ground looking like a snapper out of controll. total idiot. "specialist" my ***
