Icon3 Vtec or NO-Vtec

OK i got a B18A1 with b16 pistons and Aem cams. I want to go vtec but dont know ifs a good choice or not. I dont know if the B16 pistons will have an effect or no or the cams as well. If it is a good choice then what would i need to make my car a LS VTEC. Any info would be nice.

Since when does AEM make cams? Do you mean cam gears? Since you have B16 pistons, your compression ratio is around 11.4-11.6 depending on is you have PR3 or P30 pistons. Is the car tuned at all? What ECU are you running?

Without very, and I mean VERY entensive mods, it's going to be hard to make a lot of power N/A with a non-vtec motor.

A lot of people are going LS-VTEC swap. what's ur ULTIMATE goal and reasoning why you're asking opinions on going VTEC or Non-VTEC? I mean, we dont know if you wanna go ALL MOTOR or BOOST it.

PR3 piston on a p72 head does work. In fact isnt the Pr3 a CTR piston?
I have b18c1(vtech) with PR3 pistons and 11.5:1 cr. works great.

So the only way i can check what kind of pistons i have is to take my engine apart and get to the pistons. Cause i have a 90 RS w/ a B18A1 and when i bought the car they told me it has B16 pistons.

PR3 are not CTR pistons. CTR pistons are the PCT pistons. They're garbage. Compression would be insanely high, and you need to worry about p2v clearance issues with a GSR head.
