ok guys so heres the deal. im not new to the honda game or swaps or anything just dont post much on forums. im having a major problems. im not getting injector pulse at times. heres the low down on how it went. i fully built the motor and went turbo and converted to obd1. when i first started it up it ran like a champ not missing out or anything. fired right up like its been running for a few years. then it slowly started running worse and worse and by day 2 it went to not running at all. stopped gettin injector pulse all together. i went through the wiring and everything has checked out fine. i even swapped back to obd0 and everything. now ill get injector pulse but takes like 3 or 4 seconds before getting it and sometimes its real well and sometimes its real weak. it dosnt make sense to me at all. the obd0 ecu is reading a code 9 which is the cyl position sensor which kinda explains the no injector pulse but the dizzy is good it runs my buddys car fine. ive checked all grounds and redone all of them and they all good. im at the end of messing with it and selling it if i cant find the problem! so if anyone can give me any insight on what to check or if someone has had this prob before please help me out. thanks in advance fellas

 

try a new dizzy or fuel pump?

 

ive already swapped dizzys and still nuthing. its not the fuel pump. it has to do with the wiring to the injectors but the wiring is good. im gettin no pulse and when i do its very faint or non exsistent with my noid light. im no stranger to hondas and im absolutly lost lol ive changed out alot of stuff so my last option is pretty much swap the whole harness unless someone has an idea i havnt tried yet lol

 

main relay?

 

ive checked the main relay and seems to be functioning correctly. fuel pump runs and everything. i mean i havnt swapped it with another one yet to see cuz i didnt think the relay had anything to do with the pulsing of the injectors. i could be wrong tho. any insight on if the relay has anything to do with the pulsing of the injectors?

Is it a dx,hf or si and did you check the resistor box.

 

yeah check your resistor box maybe its burnt out

 

yep swapped with good one. its an si btw. i talked to a guy with an rsx and he was having same problem with injector pulse and it was his map sensor that took a sh** on him. thats only thing i havnt tried yet. everything else checks out good. but its up for sale so i dunno if ill mess with it anymore. thanks on the insight guys.

i know i know lol just after you put so much time into somthing and it runs very good right after build then on 2nd day it takes a **** then u try everything damn near to fix it and nuthing helps it kinda makes u not even wanna touch it lol even tho if it was the map sensor its a 5 min fix. i mean if i get no interest in it soon ill eventually try the map sensor. who knows lol

 

hah ayeah i guess but i know i try anything and everything to fix my baby..

but maybe you feel differently about your car

 

its been my baby for 4 years. ive treated her very well and she usually treats me the same just now i think she hates me lol ill keep ya updated tho when i try the map sensor and if it helps. if not i dunno what else to try

but how can the MAP affect the injector pulse?

 

i have no idea but the guy i talked to had similar problem. he was gettin a weak pulse after about 2 seconds of cranking then it would get better and better with each turn over. he swapped map sensors and it fixed his and he wasnt even throwing any codes. so i dunnno how it would effect it. hell ive been workin on hondas for 7 years now and have never seen this problem.

but you said you swapped the dizzy already..

not yet. plan to tonight tho. gotta get ahold of my buddy and grab a map sensor from him. he has abox of them so i should be able to find a good one lol ill post up my results

Are you using the correct distributors when you had it OBD1 and OBD0? How are you testing injector pulses? Have you done a simple compression test? Check cam timing?

 

compression is first thing i checked and good. 175 across the board, the distributors are the ones that ran the car before. pulled off and tested them on buddys car. both run his cars and both have ran mine. and im checking my injector pulse with my noid light. and timing is dead on. it was running really well when first started up then slowly started running more rough and more rough til not running at all. ive checked pretty much everything
